We’re looking for a Manager, Consumer PR reporting to the Director, Consumer PR & Influencer Marketing who will perform the responsibilities below:
Responsibilities
- Develop pitches for SmileDirectClub products, services, and spokespeople for feature, roundup stories, gift guides and seasonal angles across broadcast, online, and print, working with agencies to land consumer media coverage for the company.
- Working with partners across the marketing organization and Comms team, develop earned, paid and shared programs to drive buzz, newsjack and/or take advantage of real time moments to build consumer awareness of the brand.
- Build and nurture consumer media relationships in order to gain earned coverage for SmileDirectClub and its products.
- Working with influencer and shops teams, manage VIP SmileShop visits, coordinating followups and ensuring superior customer experience.
- Vet inbound media inquiries using sound judgment, tact and follow up.
- Draft, update and distribute press materials, maintaining corporate image, messaging and b-roll library.
- Coordinate, prep and staff executives for consumer media interviews
- Manage consumer media monitoring, measuring, and reporting, delivering insights and actionable opportunities to drive brand awareness and consideration forward.
- Support larger brand marketing campaigns, projects, and events .
- Monitor HARO for timely angles and conduct outreach.
Qualifications
- A team player with a can-do attitude ("no" isn't in your vocabulary!)
- A critical thinker: Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Driven for results: Push projects to completion with a sense of urgency.
- A clear communicator with solid written and oral communications skills. Able to clearly coordinate and provide information to co-workers.
- Bachelor s Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in a PR/Communications role agency experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A true go getter, proactive and always think two steps ahead.
- The ability to multi-task and work independently in a highly organized, detail-oriented manner.
- Have impeccable attention to detail you can spot a typo a mile away and are diligent with formatting and fact-checking.
- An avid news junkie who keeps up with trends both in and outside of the beauty/health/tech industries.
- Creative you enjoy coming up with new pitches and ideas and can explain your rationale.
- Proficient in Cision, Sprinklr and other monitoring tools.
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change.
