Media Relations Assistant
PlushBeds is looking for a Media Relations Assistant to support the marketing and publicity activities of our strategic marketing campaigns. This position is 100% remote.
The Media Relations Assistant will ensure a strong and impactful PlushBeds presence across all earned media touchpoints and affiliate relations while providing fundamental support in executing brand image & product public relations strategies.

Salary range: $48,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Become thoroughly familiar with the features and benefits of our products
- Create and maintain media and influencer contact lists; conduct media searches/inquiries, assist with media outreach
- Reach out to media, affiliates, as well as influencers to promote our products and provide details on our promotions
- Track data from a number of platforms and look for trends and ways to enhance our performance
- Brainstorm creative, out-of-the-box ideas to generate publicity and influencer mentions.
- Report on competitor activity and initiatives, as well as relevant industry trends, key industry events, projects, collaborations, and e-influencer initiatives.
- Maintain master editorial tracking document, including all press requests, pitching, anticipated editorial, secured editorial and missed opportunities.
- Arrange sample send outs and creative mailings to media & influencers
- Actively participate in the creative process of marketing campaigns and promotions
- Suggests marketing and promotional plans to the supervisor
- Daily media monitoring, summarizing and analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field (preferred)
- 1-2 years experience which can include previous internship experience in a public relations agency or a similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of media tracking services such as DMR, Cision, Launchmetrics and more is preferred.
- Possess good organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills- both verbal and written.
- Strong grasp of social media is a plus.
- Able to multitask and prioritize, while recognizing when to ask for direction.
- Must be motivated, highly organized, extremely detail oriented, personable, reliable and self-assured.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and last-minute requests as needed
- Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
