Description

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the editorial calendar, targets, and delivery of goals for Verily’s presence in social media channels. This role reports to the Head of Content Strategy within the marketing organization at Verily. The Social Media Manager will collaborate with a group of content writers and strategists, the Communications team, and business teams to build out key beats and messaging across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically and design an approach, writing style, and creatively ideate ways to break through and engage, but also have an operational mindset to build out a social media channel structure and content process.

Responsibilities

  • Build out social operations, such as an editorial calendar process, aligning with internal and external Comms, launches, and key cultural moments to engage people through social channels.
  • Design and run Verily’s social media strategy - including social channel strategy and content approach.
  • Pitch ideas and strategize on high-level initiatives to bring innovative approaches to social.
  • Partner with the performance marketing team to understand the paid/owned relationship. Build out influencer marketing strategies.
  • Own the insights for social media communities, and partner with the Baseline community team on ways to leverage social media to enhance the Baseline community experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Literature, or a related field.
  • 7+ years experience in social media and/or content marketing.
  • Personable, collaborative, and have great interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, with excellent time management skills and are capable of balancing competing priorities.
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills and know how to communicate technical concepts in a way anyone can understand.
  • Exceptionally creative, thinking outside the box on how to up-level our existing campaigns and determining any gaps in our strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of tools, such as social management and listening tools (i.e. Sprinklr), etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across B2C and B2B brands, Healthcare industry experience a big plus.
  • Experience building out a social strategy and/or content newsroom.
