Through photography, videography, narrative, and copy, this team conceptualizes and executes campaigns and content that align with our brand while driving customers to feel, think, and do.
WHO'S IN THE KITCHEN
As part of the Content team, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for driving growth and engagement across Blue Apron’s social channels. Working in tandem with the paid social team, the Social Media Manager will act as the company’s eyes and ears when it comes to all things social—maintaining expertise about emerging trends, chatter, and channels and identifying ways for Blue Apron to grow its authority as a socially minded brand. This position is based in Blue Apron’s Manhattan office, but can expect to regularly work from Blue Apron’s Test Kitchen and Creative Studios, both located in Brooklyn, NY. The role reports to the Director of Copy & Content.
WHAT’S ON THE MENU
- Develop Blue Apron’s strategy across social media channels, building best-in-class strategy across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, and other emerging channels.
- Oversee content production to ensure alignment with brand and content strategy, including execution of content, build out of calendars, distribution methods, and measurement of channels’ performances.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Culinary, Influencer, Marketing, and PR teams on business-wide initiatives including product launches, partnerships, and events to create content that sparks conversation and engages customers, fans, and like-minded brands.
- Be a true cross-platform storyteller, writing clever copy for all platforms while sourcing or creating imagery and video as needed.
- Drive follower growth, engagement, and performance against KPIs, identifying areas of opportunity and trends, including but not limited to contests and campaigns.
- Work closely with Creative Studio and Test Kitchen teams to enhance storytelling opportunities, coordinate photo shoots, and produce content on a regular basis.
- Build out a monthly reporting structure to share out key learnings with internal stakeholders and partners.
- Work closely with the Community Manager to support engagement goals and highlight Blue Apron’s engaged community.
NECESSARY INGREDIENTS:
The right person for this job takes initiative and is self-directed, but is also a pro at collaborating. Your writing must demonstrate economy and wit.
- 5-7+ years’ experience as a social media manager for an established brand(s) that's well respected in the social space.
- A degree in English, marketing, communications, or similar work experience
- You are a nimble and creative writer who has sharp ideas for social formats and designs; bonus if you have design and video shooting/editing skills.
- You have a deep understanding of trends, internet culture, and how virality happens.
- Food expertise, culinary curiosity, and work at a lifestyle/editorial brand is a big plus.
- You understand how to tailor strategies for different social channels, and are a pro at all of them.
- Strong working knowledge or expertise with social media monitoring/publishing/reporting tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, SocialBakers.
- A self-starter who can thrive and create your own structure in a fluid work environment
- Strong project management skills
- Passion for creating innovative and engaging social experiences
- Google Analytics experience a plus
