Social Media Strategist

Heart & Soul is looking for a social creative strategist who acts as strategic lead in managing and build a brand online and a creative-idea-generating dual threat that can put his/her/their plans into action. You will be responsible for everything from managing a brands’ social strategy, editorial calendars, social objectives, elevating the creative development and executing content.
As a social strategist, we want your ability to think strategically to connect to your clients’ brand as well as your unique creative POV on how to continually innovate within the social ecosystem. You’ll be integrating and collaborating across teams, such as PR, Paid Media and creative, and this would be a client-facing role.
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as the strategic lead for our clients’ brand channels where we need you to collaborate with creative, strategy, PR and client teams to create strategic social media content that breaks through to engage with key audiences
- Must be able to provide creative feedback to and collaborate with content creators (writers, photographers and videographers)
- Oversee unified organic and paid social content development and execution
- You will have oversight and manage approvals of paid and organic social posts, ensuring error-free, quality assurance of all published content, meeting client expectations, delivering on business objectives, and executed accurately and according to channel specifications
- Serve as the subject matter expert and go-to resource for content and channel questions for internal and client teams, proactively bringing innovative social strategies and ideas
- Maintains a high-level of industry, creative and trend awareness
- Fluent in social analytics, social listening, and automation tools to drive reporting and insight development
- Community management for up to 2-3 brands’ social presence, including some work on weekends / evenings / holidays
- Manage, guide and oversee 1-2 junior social strategists
Other Key Activities (to help you grow and learn)
- Lead and assist in creative brainstorming sessions, including the development of ideas from right time engagement to stand-alone campaigns that go beyond social media
- Lead execution of live events and activations
- Be an active part of content creation (photo & video shoots), time permitting
- Collaborate with client partner agencies (media) in the development and execution of paid digital deliverables
- Create POV’s on trends, influencers and present them
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant social media experience
- 1-2 years of management experience
- Thorough understanding of all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Clubhouse), their technical requirements and best practices.
- Must be able to make recommendations and write POVs for clients based
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience quickly generating client-facing presentations
- Strong attention to detail but NOT a perfectionist
- Have a willingness to break from convention and fail
- Can plan & prioritize time and be adaptable to real-time changes
Bonus Points:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
- Experience and POV of tool preference with social analytics/publishing tools (Netbase, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, RivalIQ, etc.)
- Experience in creating, managing or executing social influencer programs
- Knowledgeable with SEO and SEM
- Can hold his/her/their own on a Spikeball team, Ax throwing, karaoke, etc.
Growth Path:
Each individual will have and help build his/her/their own development path, but strong performance, adherence to our cultural code and positive attitude will earn increased responsibility as the Agency and its affiliates continue to grow. As a general guide, Social Strategists will be trained and developed to become Senior Social Strategists, but they can also create career paths in paid digital media, influencer marketing or account services/strategy.
