DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS

For over 150 years, The United States Playing Card Company (“USPC”) has been the leader in the production and distribution of premier playing cards and a creator of innovative family-friendly games. Well-known and reputable brands such as BEE®, BICYCLE®, KEM®, ARISTOCRAT® and HOYLE® are just a few of our widely recognizable brands. Whether it is a game of blackjack on the casino floor or game night with the family our brands and products play a part.




In late 2019, The United States Playing Card company was acquired by Cartamundi. With this step, Cartamundi is accelerating the growth of their own brands business in playing cards, alongside their manufacturing excellence capabilities.




Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Turnhout, Belgium, Cartamundi is the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of playing cards and board games. Cartamundi’s purpose is “Sharing the Magic of Playing together”. Cartamundi is responsible for manufacturing with excellence their customer’s nostalgic card and boardgames and collectable cards such as Monopoly®, Pokémon®, UNO® - this, in addition to, Shuffle®, COPAG®, Grimaud®, Color Addict ®.




A global company, Cartamundi is in full expansion and increasing its local presence through strategic partnerships and investments. Currently, Cartamundi operates across 23 locations (including 13 factories) throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with over 2500 employees, and products being sold in more than 185 countries.




Cartamundi North America operates across 4 main locations - East Longmeadow, MA; Dallas, TX; Erlanger, KY; and Monterrey, Mexico. With approximately 1,500 employees in North America (comprised of around 700 hourly, 300 salaried, and 500 temporary), Cartamundi takes a “global” approach, meaning that they globally adopt good practices of local companies as a best-in-class strategy, given that gaming traditions differ regionally.




The North America revenue is around $285 mil USD in total, of which $160 mil USD comes from toll manufacturing for publishers, and around $125 mil USD comes from own brands.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Are you someone who lives and loves the digital marketing space and gets energy from new social platforms, telling stories, and working with creators?

In this role, you’ll bring to life our brands and products by developing amazing content, building relationships with our communities, from Magicians to families playing cards at home. You’ll have the opportunity to bring new content creation methodologies, tell brand stories on new platforms, and use new analysis techniques to drive business growth.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and engage digital consumer communities on a variety of outlets including online forums, social media platforms, and email.

  • Ensures overall social media goals and objectives are met by driving execution of plans supporting the brand strategy.

  • Drive efficient internal and external content creation strategies for social media, website, email, and eCommerce platforms that drive measurable growth.

  • Execute paid social campaigns that direct response commerce goals (sales + customer acquisition).

  • Use A/B tests of content and audience targets to optimize paid social executions.

  • Manage, coach, and develop Visual Media and Social Content Specialist

  • Innovates across existing and new social/digital channels and actively identifies and executes test opportunities for engagement and channel use.

  • Leads creation and implementation of brand-influencer programs.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership and perspective around best-in-class social trends, ideas, and strategies.

  • Create and execute SEO strategy and leading organic growth projects from inception to completion for e-commerce sites.

  • Utilize social listening tools to proactively generate online engagement and uncover insights.

  • Maintain brand website content in partnership with technology providers and IT.

  • Lead execution for future social commerce initiatives.




BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of experience in social media management, marketing, or relevant field

  • Expertise in social media, influencer marketing, and content creation

  • Ability to pitch and develop creative ideas for social content and initiatives

  • Knowledge of technical and creative aspects of various digital channels

  • Established history of embracing and unlocking new social platforms

  • Experience with content management

  • Ability to write short-form compelling copy, landing pages, CTAs, and emails

  • Experience with Adobe Suite, Excel, Social Media Analytics, Social Listening tools.
