The Coordinator, Champion Engagement is a key role on the Champion Engagement Team, a sub team of Share Our Strength’s Communications department that actively recruits and stewards a diverse range of culinary, entertainment, and influencer voices to amplify Share Our Strength’s mission. This role strengthens the day-to-day operations of the team by lending vital administrative support and creative thinking to engagement initiatives and providing excellent service to internal business owners and external stakeholders.

The role is preferably based in Washington, DC, but could be fully remote for the right candidate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports champion team operations to meet annual team-led initiatives and goals.
  • Fields and routes internal and external inquiries for champion engagement opportunities.
  • Supports champion-team lead initiatives, including event coordination (virtual and in person), advocacy and media campaigns, and corporate activations.
  • Drafts, proofreads, and coordinates distribution of champion-focused communications.
  • Maintains champion website and asset library of champion-approved photos, videos, and other materials.
  • Coordinates with social media and brand teams to develop and execute content ideas that elevate champions across platforms.
  • Creates and maintain accurate champion pitch decks and case studies to support partner cultivation.
  • Monitors and acknowledges current and prospective champion news and social media.
  • Maintains accurate department budget and engagement records.
  • Partners with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Two years of relevant experience in an administrative capacity or related field.
  • Interest in project management, marketing, and public relations.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and digital platforms, including social media best practices.
  • Proficient in project management software, MS Office or Google Workspace, and experience with Raiser’s Edge (or equivalent CRM) a plus.
  • Highly organized with ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and motivated to creatively solve problems in a busy environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • Strong skills in Spanish and motivation to serve the Latinx community strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in food justice, anti-hunger, and anti-poverty issues.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
