The Senior Manager of Consumer Insights & Strategy will lead consumer-centric Insights recommendations to support the Gatorade Hydration businesses. This role is of critical importance to the broader Sports & Fitness Business Unit, serving as the key Insights resource for the $6B Gatorade master brand, and several smaller developing businesses and innovations.

This role will report to the Gatorade Director of Insights and be the key consultative partner of the Gatorade, G Zero, Gatorlyte and Bolt24 teams. Within this role, the Senior Manager will lead insights by identifying base business priorities, influencing strategy, identifying and bringing innovation to life, and providing Insights guidance on Consumer Engagement projects through a direct report. To do this, the individual will need to know the business cold, leading annual Situation Assessments as well as serving as an ongoing resource for understanding business dynamics and drivers.

This individual also manages Insights needs for mid and long term innovation and thus must demonstrate strong Insights project management skills, from understanding/clarifying business problems, developing appropriate research plans, leading project execution, managing efforts of multiple external research vendors, and making sound recommendations. Finally, this individual will lead foundational hydration learning that generates empathy for the brands consumers and design target and guides the development of strong brands though a How Brands Grow mindset. Leveraging this foundational expertise, this role will also partner with the Insights Director to input into AOP and ESP strategic planning efforts.

The scope of this role requires the individual to be adept in working across a multitude of cross-functional partners (Brand Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Consumer Engagement Marketing, R&D, Sales, Design, Finance, etc.) to guide consumer-centric decision-making. This role also oversees an Insights Associate Manager, whose role will particularly focus on Consumer Engagement Insights. The Senior Manager will develop and serve as a daily resource for this individual, as well as develop relationships with the Consumer Engagement team to help enable their success.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced Degree preferred
  • 8-10 years in strategic insights/consumer research role preferred
  • Experience in the sports industry or CPG is a plus, not required

  • Strong and Influential Communicator: A clear communicator who is able to synthesize learnings across multiple sources and deliver findings in an impactful manner, cutting through the complexity to tell a simple, compelling story. Must be able to leverage fact-based information to influence across organizations at multiple levels and be comfortable interacting with cross-functional leadership
  • Drive to the “so-whats”: Ability to manage/synthesize multiple data sources into the holistic story with a focus on business implications/actions
  • Self-motivated and curious: Opportunity to bring new thought and creativity to the processes. Not just managing what exists, but finding what can be improved and going for it
  • Agile: Can-do attitude with the ability to flex, prioritize and move at the speed of business
