Reports to: CEO
Location: Onsite/Culver City (remote through pandemic)
Essential:
Ritual is looking for its first Chief Marketing Officer to lead the team into the next phase of growth. Reporting to the CEO, this person will shape Ritual’s brand awareness and digital growth strategy and lead the team by overseeing all aspects of brand, growth and customer. The CMO will drive the marketing roadmap and strategic vision for Ritual helping the company to better understand its consumer and ultimately further the brand’s already commanding place in the market.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, manage & mentor brand, growth and customer teams into a best-in-class organization that is inspired to deliver against marketing & company goals on a daily basis. Give team members the tools, guidance and confidence that will create progressive career tracks for each individual contributor
- Build a strategic marketing plan with innovative campaigns that are driven by performance and influencer marketing, creative, online & offline efforts, brand & direct marketing, as well as community building
- Develop a comprehensive cross-platform digital engagement strategy that encompasses social, loyalty, and in-store experience and ultimately drives significant new customer and revenue growth
- Collaborate cross functionally with various internal teams such as creative, product, engineering etc., to help the organization define the marketing message and digital tools, paid media, related to store design, online and mobile ordering, in store activation and loyalty programs
- Partner closely with the creative team to develop and deliver on creative strategy in line with overall brand values in order to increase brand visibility and awareness to drive audience reach and maximize revenue
- Develop & manage the marketing budget through comprehensive demand plans that allow for optimization to ensure activities are effective, efficient and deliver successful ROI metrics
- Apply both analytical diligence and consumer behavior intuition to identifying unique, compelling opportunities to put the Ritual brand and product stories in front of new audiences
- As a key part of the executive management team, the CMO will drive and foster true partner relationships across peer groups and business functions
Who You Are:
- 15+ years of well-rounded marketing and senior leadership experience, working with consumer-facing brands that have a passionate end-user
- A strong understanding of the different marketing components including growth, brand, and CRM to see how they all work together to drive a successful business
- Best-in-class brand builder and storyteller; proven success crafting brands from the ground up. A proven track record of dramatically increasing brand engagement and generating business growth
- Strong digital knowledge and understanding of the evolving media landscape
- Deep knowledge of how to use both online & offline channels and tools to build both a brand and a customer base
- Proven ability to develop and execute a strategic marketing plan that leverages brand insights with a comprehensive tactical marketing plan evaluated against a set of business metrics
- Highly analytical; able to make data-driven decisions and establish effective metrics to approach marketing strategy & spend, while not losing sight of the brand
- Excellent cross-functional leader who is entrepreneurial and excels at both high-level thinking and execution and is effective at managing change in a fast-moving and constantly evolving business
- Entrepreneurial and innovative thinker with a scrappy mind-set
- Team oriented leader who values culture and winning together
What You'll Need:
- Led and effectively scaled a marketing function through a period of rapid growth
- Proven track record of scaling direct to consumer brands to $200m+
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and execute strategy with limited input
- High emotional intelligence and self-awareness, which encourages positive energy and passion throughout the organization
- Passion and interest in health & wellness
