WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Our Integrated Marketing department is looking to expand by adding a Senior Manager to the team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and proven success in developing brand communication and content strategy within an agency or business.

This person will have experience developing and implement a communication strategy with a channel plan that includes media outreach, social media content creation, and paid influencer strategy. They will have in-depth knowledge and understanding of how different communication strategies they can be deployed in different scenarios, and on different platforms. This includes the ability to develop and implement basic tactical strategies, define goals, define timelines and manage them, problem-solve, and plan for contingencies. They should be able to train, mentor, and help onboard more junior team members, challenge existing processes, help bring new ideas to quarterly planning sessions, and overall be a self-driven learner and solutions-oriented team member.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of communication and content strategies built on an understanding of the client's business goals, the campaign strategy, and best practices by channel to drive impressions, engagement, followers and/or traffic
  • Help to build campaign strategy and brand positioning, creating communication frameworks to guide messaging across owned, earned or shared tactics
  • Brainstorm content ideas, in line with the client’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives
  • Determine which formats best communicate various types of messaging, identifying ways to increase brand awareness and engagement by channel.
  • Able to adjust communication voice based on the brand and/or to reach different audiences
  • Tactically execute communication initiatives on behalf of clients, overseeing vendors, partner agencies, or ICs as required (e.g. PR specialists, influencer agencies, etc.)
  • Understands how PR, social media, paid influencers, and content development converge and is able to apply that understanding to an effective communications strategy
  • Understand how earned media and influencer marketing can fit into the larger communications mix
  • Bring thoughtful direction and inspiration into content planning and creation, when applicable
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of the social media discipline and can proactively provide POV on emerging trends and products we—and clients—should be using
  • Ability to leverage social media across platforms and maintains participatory expertise across social media channels
  • Develop and report on the effective benchmarks to measure the impact of strategic communication programs by using robust analytics and research capabilities to analyze user engagement metrics and determine efficacy / resonance of communications
  • Able to guide a project team from strategy conception to execution and evaluation
  • Able to manage and maximize budgets
  • Can prepare and assist with client-facing deliverables, including presentations
  • Able to adjust communication style to effectively communicate with clients who have different knowledge sets within communications and channel strategy
  • Has the diplomacy skills to manage a client relationship with poise under pressure, keeping an eye on established goals and metrics, as well as client satisfaction

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • 5+ years of agency or in-house experience at a forward-thinking brand with management responsibility in the social sphere
  • Concentration and experience in integrated marketing, specifically in communications and content strategy in an integrated account and overall marketing strategy
  • Influencer marketing experience a considerable plus
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships internally and with the client
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the social space: platforms, vendors, measurement, content creation, media, and technology
  • Able to manage multiple projects, deliverables, deadlines, and relationships at the same time
  • Is extraordinarily attentive to details
  • Writes creatively, succinctly, and correctly to help others edit their work so it can be smart and on point
  • Is a team player: we're a growing department of collaborators, and we don't much like the word "mine" unless it's used to describe something no one wants
  • Exhibits a passion for the space
  • Is curious and a research geek
  • Has a sense of humor
