About the role:
The Director of CRM & Email Marketing is responsible for the performance and development of the Email Team as it relates to departmental revenue and profit margins, overall strategy & product offering, client and team success, and internal processes and operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Health & Growth of Email Department
- Overseeing Budgets:
- Outsourced Costs for writers, VAs, coding
- Part-time resource monthly cost
- Managing Resources Against Financial Goals & Budgets:
- Identifying when new resources are needed and what type of resources are needed
- Finding solutions for maximizing current resources and efficiencies
- Managing Pipeline:
- Weekly tracking against department revenue and profitability goals
- P&L targets and actuals for Email Department
- Tracking Revenue per Employee
- New Business:
- Keep close pulse on new business opportunities to monitor pipeline
- Regularly participate in new business audits and pitches
Health & Growth of the Email Service Offering
- Overall Health of Email Product
- Ensuring quality and standards are met across all deliverables
- Email Strategy Growth
- Improving, bolstering, and optimizing current strategies
- Adding and iterating on new strategies
- Forming and overseeing strategic partnerships with platform partners to ensure product / service is relevant and innovative
- Client Churn & Service Expansion
- Identifying service expansion opportunities for non-email clients or existing email clients
- Keeping a close pulse on client sentiment to reduce churn
- Forecasting Obstacles & Threats
- Creating tackle plan in advance
Email Team Health & Growth
- Assessing current team members and mapping out roadmap
- Strengths and areas of opportunity per person
- Developing roadmaps for individual team members based on current state and assessment (personal, professional, financial)
- Measuring against roadmap progress (KPIs and pacing)
- Weekly Check Ins & Monthly 1:1s

- DAPs
- Training & Onboarding
- Executing regular trainings to up-level skillset
- Identifying knowledge / skill set gaps
- Onboarding employees into processes, strategies, and tools
Recruiting Current & Future Needs
- Handling Interview Process (Keeping a full bench at all times, reaching out to new candidates, holding initial phone screens, coordinating follow-up interviews, putting together offer letters, negotiating)
- Putting together role profile needs and making business case for hire
- Onboarding
Management of Email Team Members
- Providing regular feedback and redirecting when needed to ensure job descriptions are fulfilled
- Making yourself available at any time to discuss problems, questions, etc.
- Stepping in when there is a problem and taking heat from clients and using as coaching opportunity
- Helping team members manage their workflows, prioritize tasks, and work more efficiently
