Job Description
As the Senior Manager, Partnerships and Business Development you will serve as the overall business manager supporting brand initiatives, partnerships and new business opportunities that create brand affinity, build awareness and drive consumer engagement. The role is responsible for developing the framework for driving strategic partnerships that will support the growth of West Elm. This individual will work cross-functionally with the manager of Public Relations and Influencer Marketing, Partnerships, Social, as well as cross-organizationally with Design, Merchandising, and Project Management.

Responsibilities
- Overall business manager for collaborations and brand partnerships
- Provide framework and guidance for identifying and driving strategic partnerships that will support West Elm’s ambitious growth objectives
- Develop business cases for partnerships and collaborations, including establish relevant measures of success and KPIs
- Responsible for deal execution and go-to-market strategy for collaborations and brand partnerships
- Provide cross-functional leadership across product development/design, merchandising, inventory management, marketing, e-commerce and other functional groups to ensure business goals are achieved
- Build upon West Elm’s existing content partnership program and develop pipeline of partners for vendor-funded campaigns that generate ad revenue for the brand
- Proven ability to develop compelling pitch decks and build relationships with key industry stakeholders in adjacent categories including food & beverage, fashion, fitness, tech and gaming
- Initiate and manage contract and negotiations with partners, vendors and charities
- Capable of understanding the power of relationships to execute creative and innovative campaigns that speak to new and existing customers
- Own, manage and meticulously balance budget, timeline and calendar for partnerships throughout the year
- This is a senior manager role that is supported by one associate manager and reports to the Director of Consumer Marketing + Communications
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Marketing/Advertising required
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of demonstrated success in brand marketing, advertising, retail or communications in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Is a motivated self-starter, highly organized and comfortable managing
- Mix of in-house and agency experience strongly preferred
- Should have management experience with junior staff or agency
- Must be a strong writer and comfortable communicating with leadership
- Must be analytical and capable of distilling data and quantifying performance of campaigns to present results
- Exhibits a passion for retail and marketing while being obsessive about consuming popular culture at the intersection of food, fashion, design/home, wellness and consumer lifestyle trends
- Eager to test, learn and develop new processes to create something fresh and unexpected
- Relentless attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills
