Role Description
The Social Media & Influencer Marketing Associate will serve a critical need on the Content & Communications team within the Marketing function. This role will be responsible for bringing the Simple Mills brand voice and personality to life across our social media platforms, authentically engaging with our consumers, building a united online community, supporting content creation and executing against our social strategy and platform playbooks. Additionally, this role will support the execution of influencer marketing initiatives, including shopper marketing program, event planning, and influencer engagement. This position will support the Content & Community Manager and Influencer Marketing Manager and report to the Senior Manager of Content & Communications.
- Bring the Simple Mills brand personality and voice to life on social media through Community Management, maintaining consistency & authenticity across platforms. Priority channels include Facebook and Instagram, and secondarily, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter.
- Foster positive interactions with our consumers by proactively and reactively responding with likes, comments, shares, and DMs in a timely manner and identifying opportunities to Surprise & Delight our community through product sends and gifting.
- Handle customer service inquiries; escalate situations when appropriate and collaborate with key stakeholders to determine a strategic approach and expedite resolution.
- Build monthly content calendars and decks that support each platform’s unique goals, objectives, and strategy. Schedule posting based on best practices per platform, consistently tweaking and optimizing based on platform insights, algorithm changes, and performance.
- Keep a pulse on the quickly-evolving social media landscape to identify trending themes, mirror best practices, and clearly understand platform tools and capabilities.
- Write blog posts for the Simple Mills website on the topics of health & wellness/nutrition, healthy meal/snack ideas, sustainability, and regenerative agriculture.
- Engage our Simple Mills community on an ongoing basis through strategic, engaging, and creative newsletters; own content production, copywriting, design (in partnership with Creative team), distribution among relevant audience segments, and measurement.
- Support Influencer Marketing Manager by assisting in execution of Shopper Marketing programs.
- Identify new micro and nano influencers and content creators, ensuring Simple Mills has a strong roster of burgeoning influencer partners.
- Aid in metric gathering, analysis, and reporting to evaluate performance against established KPIs and key benchmarks.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 2-4 years experience in a relevant field; ideal candidates will have agency or in-house social media management experience; CPG exposure a plus
- Expertise in social media platform capabilities, including primarily Facebook and Instagram, and secondarily, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter
- Understanding and/or interest of the influencer marketing landscape required
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills (including spelling, grammar, syntax)
- Strong storytelling skills; embodies the ability to make the complex simple and distill multi-faceted topics into engaging, short form social content; copywriting experience desirable
- Action oriented self-starter who takes initiative to move tasks forward and thrives in a fast-paced environment involving time sensitive projects
- Outstanding attention to detail, well organized and strong time/task management skills
- Flexible, nimble, and comfortable with ambiguity; embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and “can do” attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization and external partners; interpersonal and relationship-building skills a must
- Highly motivated by the Simple Mills mission and value set; embodies deep passion for the health & wellness landscape and motivated by the ability of food to positively impact people and planetary health
- A passion for natural food and healthy eating as well as a desire to change the way we think about ingredient labels

Compensation will be competitive for the ideal candidate. Due to current COVID restrictions, you must be able to work remotely at your own designated location with sufficient internet access to support video conferencing. You must also be willing and able to work at our Chicago office in the future. As of present, the majority of our workforce is working remotely.
