Candidate Location: IZEA’s workforce is currently 100% remote and the ideal candidate thrives with the freedom and flexibility this structure provides.
Due to this being a work-from-home opportunity, it is posted in multiple locations. However, there is currently only one opening.
About The Role
IZEA is seeking an experienced executive to lead our new business efforts focused on growing the company's eminence via work supporting the United States federal government.
Candidates should have 10+ years of professional experience with at least 7 years of business development experience - preferably in government contracting (e.g. GSA) and/or marketing communications, advertising, PR, digital agency or consultancy. You will develop and implement a business development strategy and identify, qualify, manage a new business pipeline to conversion.
Responsibilities
- Work with IZEA’s senior leadership team to accelerate the growth of our presence and overall Beltway awareness/reputation.
- Lead new business development and proposal efforts for all federal government branches, departments, bureaus, and corporations. Where appropriate, forming relationships with key PR and traditional advertising agencies that support those same targets.
- Create lead-generation programs and drive capture plans.
- Spearhead and orchestrate pitches and proposals. Develop and manage new business processes, draft RFI / RFP content, and develop best-in-class response formats.
- Improve vetting and pursuing new business leads to increase the new business pipeline and conversion rates.
- Develop and maintain the company’s collateral, case study library, pitch presentations, marketing and intelligence.
- Maintain and leverage CRM to promote contact with targets, support marketing initiatives and provide accurate pipeline reporting.
- Support thought leadership and other content development and marketing efforts.
Qualifications
- Successful sales performance in the federal government/public sector.
- New business development and/or strategy role in a marketing communications, advertising, PR, digital agency or consultancy.
- Experience selling Influencer Marketing and/or Content Marketing solutions highly preferred; social and/or digital experience required.
- Proficiency with Federal market intelligence websites and services such as Bloomberg Government, Deltek, GovWin, and GSA Ebuy.
- Government RFP response coordination, organization and writing skills.
- Strong written, creative and oral presentation skills in a range of presentation settings.
- The role is extremely varied – no two days are ever the same – but each day is always busy! The candidate needs to be resourceful and work both quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
