We are seeking the next leader of the Microsoft Store social media team. The social team is responsible for @MicrosoftStore organic and paid strategies across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Snapchat. We love finding new ways to bridge social media storytelling and the company’s mission to help every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.

This role reports into the Manager of Social and Earned Media. As a part of our broader Microsoft Store Marketing and Experiences team, you would be accountable for helping us bring together content and commerce in ways that help us reach the next generation of Microsoft fans.

Owning the relationship with our external creative agency, in-house paid media team, and reactive customer care, this role requires strategic orchestration of resources to ensure we’re delivering impact. This requires a keen understanding of our business priorities, social platform capabilities and target audiences. Influencer marketing experience a plus.

If we were using buzzwords, we’d say: you have had success developing and managing an overarching integrated social media strategy that includes organic and paid social media objectives and tactics and is in alignment with each of Microsoft Store’s business priorities. Responsibilities

  • Lead and evangelize the strategic direction for Microsoft Store Social Media
  • Manage a team of vendors dedicated to social media campaign development, ranging from seasonal retail moments to product launches and evergreen brand-building.
  • Function as primary point of contact for all supplier relationships, including creative agencies, vendor staffing and martech
  • Coordinate and collaborate with influencer marketing team for proactive and strategic integrations.
  • Optimize the editorial calendar to ensure consistent and prioritized storytelling in line with business priorities
  • Oversee reactive social team to ensure Microsoft Store delivers best-in-class social customer care, 1:1 fan engagement and generates valuable social listening insights.
  • Parter with business development, merchandising and digital stores teams to scale the Microsoft Store Social Commerce program and future social media marketplace opportunities
  • Leverage agency and vendor resources to deliver monthly, quarterly, and campaign-specific reports that provide clear data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years’ experience of digital and social strategy at a social media agency or medium-to-large sized company, preferably within retail industry
  • Agency and vendor management. Ability to bring the best out of our suppliers and direct reports.
  • Social media community management experience.
  • Paid Social Media Experience
  • Exceptional formal and colloquial communications skills.
  • Have partnered with designers and creative agencies to develop visual assets for social media.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across organizational and team boundaries.
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proven record for data-driven decision making, innovative approaches and smart risk taking.
  • Understanding of evolving social media trends.
  • Have deep platform expertise on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter
  • Experience with tools like Sprinklr, Sprout, Opal, and/or Crimson Hexagon.

Highly Preferred Experience And Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years of Retail experience
  • Ability to rapidly gain/build trust and confidence of stakeholders.
  • Motivated self-starter, able to advance initiatives during periods of ambiguity, and enjoys working under pressure and deadline.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards in social media
