This is a great opportunity to lead the business procurement portion of Influencer programming by carrying out Influencer talent buys, negotiations, and contracting development/counsel. Ideal candidates will have a passion and knowledge of partnerships across all tiers of talent, branded video content, social platforms, digital media, the talent management space. This candidate has a proven track record of broad industry relationships, negotiating, and contracting deals to support and fulfill the strategic objectives for industry leading programs.

The Manager, Influencer Relations & Business affairs role is responsible for Influencer procurement and assessing and managing the risk associated with Influencer and talent programs created for all mediums. The position is based Los Angeles and will support all DJE Holdings Companies.

Responsibilities

  • The primary function of this role is to be self-sufficient conducting outreach, negotiations, and contracting for talent and Influencer procurement.
  • The position requires an individual who is comfortable working both independently and within group dynamics to secure Influencers and mitigate risk within procurement process
  • Support the full lifecycle of a project from an Influencer procurement and business affairs perspective including new business, procurement strategy, and execution
  • Drive execution on talent buys and contracting, ensuring seamless procurement execution
  • Own the creation of Influencer contracts with a strong knowledge in Federal Trade Commission Guidelines (FTC) and standard deal points
  • Navigate external contractual redlines with talent agency lawyers including an understanding of legal terms and negotiating strategy.
  • Lead negotiation with Influencers, talent agents, managers, etc. for a variety of engagements
  • Work closely with all members of the legal practice as needed, legal, risk management, outside counsel
  • Counseling account teams and Clients on proper talent buying strategy and creating operational efficiencies in the process.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • This candidate will have the proven ability to manage and maintain relationships across the social Influencer landscape and will lead the Influencer talent buying process consisting of outreach, negotiations, and contracting based on the needs of our clients
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the entertainment and lifestyle marketing related fields including working directly with Influencers, talent management and/or sales role at a Multi-Channel-Network or comparable agency
  • Strong industry relationships within the entertainment community (talent agencies, MCN’s Content Creators, managers, etc.). Influencer and Talent Agency relationships are required.
  • Strong understanding of social media, Influencers, content creators and the larger Influencer Marketing ecosystem
  • Knowledge and experience working across all tiers of Influencers (micro, mid, top tier, celebrity, and traditional experts such as RD’s / KOL’s) and nuances of working with each.
  • Understanding of Influencer talent buying, experience drafting long form agreements, negotiating redlines, and overall business affairs related practices.
  • Exceptional collaborator who can work across practices and handle a high volume of Influencer procurement all at once
  • Relentlessly seeks, shares and adopts ideas and best practices in and outside the agency
  • Proven ability in managing teams, establishing goals and ensuring project deadlines are met
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and written and oral communications skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to deliver on a heavy volume of correspondence
