Marketing Research Director

This will be the first Marketing Research role at StreamElements - helping to build the research function while providing insights to help inform decision making. This role partners closely with the creator success, product, marketing, and brand teams to better inform decisions around our tools, products, outreach, creator service, etc., helping us to maintain a competitive advantage. This role will manage every aspect of research projects from discovery to delivery, working globally and cross functionally on both larger strategic projects and detailed UI/UX research.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal constituents on the creator, merchandising and advertiser sides of our business to deliver clear and actionable insights that assist in the meeting of company goals
- Conduct end-to-end research, utilizing a wide variety of methodologies (both, qual and quant), to help us gain confidence in the understanding of our users (current and future) and advertisers, articulating their needs and the opportunity this uncovers for our products.
- Synthesize findings from different data sources into clear takeaways and recommendations incorporating multiple data sources.
- Work closely with marketing, product, creator success, and brand leaders to define the most important research questions, lead research, facilitate synthesis to get to compelling insights, and finally turn the insights into action.
- Define the most important insights that drive legendary creator experiences and work with internal teams to translate these insights into action.
- Assist in the creation of “stories” that highlight our Unique Selling Proposition to the market.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience within research or analytics, ideally around customer bases or product/UX
- Experience with various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies such as ethnography, contextual interviews, surveys, conjoint, customer journeys and more.
- Knowledge of the digital advertising industry and the various constituencies therein.
- Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis.
- Proven ability to use customer insights to drive a holistic marketing strategy.
- Ability to distill research findings into clear, and compelling data backed presentations, data visualizations, and/or infographics.
- Great interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide diversity of colleagues in other disciplines and cultures.
- Experience programming surveys and performing data analysis and synthesis from DIY software (specifically Qualtrics, SPSS, etc.) is preferred
- Familiarity with design thinking and lean experimentation is a plus
