Account Supervisor - Digital

The Role
We are looking for a driven Account Supervisor with leadership potential, solid social and digital experience, passion for innovation and excitement about the food/ag industries to join a hybrid and dynamic digital agency team. You will be supporting a global food client and providing strategic counsel on multiple Food and Ag accounts as clients seek to find new ways to reach and engage with the audiences who matter most to their business. We are looking for a well-rounded communicator, who understands common client challenges related to all things social and digital - content and channel strategy, community management and engagement, paid media planning and buying, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and an understanding of how analytics can inform content strategy from planning to execution to optimization.
At Porter Novelli, we service a wide variety of clients and are looking for someone who is excited about navigating the rigors and regulations Food & Ag space yet a detail-oriented self-starter who can apply best practices to elevate storytelling across social and digital programs.
- Work closely with other team members to manage client programs, which may be comprised of social and digital media executions, traditional integrated PR tactics, influencer relations, event activations and more
- Monitor trends and emerging features, applications and platforms in the space, and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use and efficacy of social media
- Lead out on developing social media tactical plans and integrated digital strategies to enhance integrated multi-channel programming
- Follow media coverage and proactively propose changes to determine possible impact on variety of food & ag issues
- Be a champion for social and digital work - experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities and how to sell the opportunity in to the client
- Be a ‘first line’ of communications with colleagues and clients to strategically suggest social and digital ideas
- Support IAT to ensure compliance and push innovative thinking
- Measure the impact of social media activities on overall public relations and translate analytic data into communications recommendations (Ie Brandwatch insights)
- Provide advice on key national issues, trends impacting food and ag clients and organizations
- Manage a community manager who develops content and post on clients’ behalf when needed
- Work with junior staff as a mentor and a partner in communications
- Reside within the social and digital public relations community of practice, while working effectively and collaboratively with all agency disciplines, including account service, research, creative and paid media
- Vendor management
- Basic budget development and tracking
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English or other related field
- Minimum three to five years of experience in digital public relations, with a proven track record of success
- Experience managing direct reports
- Knowledge of MS Project or other project management software
- Basic understanding of website development and User Experience principles
- Understanding of digital ecosystem development including paid amplification
- Deep understanding of social media channels, community management principles, and influencer marketing strategies
- Experience with Social Media analytics tools such as Brandwatch and developing editorial calendars
- Ability to work with diverse teams of content creators in and outside of agency (articles, videos, etc.)
- Solid project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Past experience participating in agency social media efforts on behalf of a major brand or non-profit, is strongly desired
- Extensive user and consumer of social media - actively participate in a variety of online communities including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok forums and emerging platforms
- Excellent communications skills. Must be an engaging and persuasive communicator, including strong presentation skills. Must be a versatile writer who communicates clearly and accurately for intended audiences
- Experience analyzing campaigns and providing quantitative analysis based on metrics to provide program recommendations
- Working knowledge of paid social programs and techniques
- A strong aptitude for new and emerging digital trends, and a desire to experiment with new ideas and technologies
- Must be creative, analytical and able apply new technologies to old problems
- Strong strategic thinking; must possess a broad understanding of business. Must be able to see the big picture and how public relations, social media and other communications strategies fit into a communications campaign/challenge.
- Must be able to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure consensus around tactics’ and overall approach.
