Sr. Strategic Communications Manager
Job Description
The SASE Product Marketing and Partnerships team in the Service Provider and Edge Business Unit (SEBU) is seeking an innovative and dynamic Sr. Strategic Communications Manager to join the Product Marketing & Partnerships (PMMP) team to drive communication initiatives for our networking and security audience that guides customers and prospects forward, increases public awareness, thought leadership and influence for the SEBU and drives business goals.
You will work closely in partnership with key stakeholders including product & technical marketing, content team, and social media team to support the overall goals of SEBU marketing. Partner with global communications team to amplify SASE related efforts. This position plays an integral role in positioning, messaging, and promoting SASE team and SEBU programs and is an outstanding opportunity to plan, develop and deliver messaging and digital content across VMware SASE and SEBU initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Identify strategic topics that resonate in the SASE product space (as part of Integrated Storytelling team) and opportunities to amplify messaging. Provide SASE team feedback on business unit related media releases.
- Queue up any complementary BU blogs, social media amplifications, updating trackers and inclusion in BU newsletter/s
- Support of BU specific ‘through partner’ announcements and Partner ecosystem team opportunities
- Reach out to and cultivate relationships with influencers, industry experts and beyond in order to amplify BU strategic messaging. Expand roster of current influencers.
- Establish relationships with and conduct interviews/brainstorm with key internal stakeholders to generate new and impactful communications ideas, stories and materials (as part of Integrated Storytelling team efforts)
- Connect with technical subject matter experts to better understand our offering, and craft messaging that leads to effective communications.
- Employ innovative marketing and communications tactics that expand program visibility and empower internal audiences to amplify messaging
- BU level Awards – monitor opportunities and submit for SASE related product awards, in coordination with the global communications team
- Monitor and keep track of competitors' activities. keep up with the latest trends within the SASE technology space, competition coverage, and influencer community.
- Measure and analyze communications efforts for their efficiency
Experience & Preferred Skills:
- BA/BS or equivalent
- 5-8 years of B2B SaaS marketing or software technology company leading communications and influencer marketing campaigns/programs, communication strategy and/or public relations experience
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal communications, project management, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience supporting executives with thought leadership and influencer presence
- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics.
- Experience managing and measuring programs and campaigns
- Experience with Smartsheet, MS office, Meltwater or similar tool
