Summary:

The Lifestyle Marketing Director will develop and execute key strategies and tactics for our events and activation team, as well as our partnership and lifestyle strategy. This is a key role in establishing Sun Bum as a top lifestyle brand and will work closely with VP Marketing to execute our annual brand strategy. They will also work cross-functionally to develop lifestyle products as part of our annual campaigns and be responsible for managing their budget with the help of the finance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Activations and Events: Develop and execute annual and long-range strategic plans for activations and events and manage the events and activation team. This will include identifying new partnerships and also leading strategy and execution of Sun Bum activations like Bum Rush and Sonny’s Porch.
  • Ambassadors: Lead team in managing all existing relationships and develop strategies for future athlete ambassadors and team members, identifying new athletes and sports. Develop best-in-class programming to support our partners.
  • Brand Partnerships: Create a brand partnership program for Sun Bum by identifying key brands to partner with that will help us retain credibility within the specialty and action sports community and create large buzzworthy moments globally.
  • Concept Store: Partner with Creative Director and Store manager to create a strategic vision for concept store and virtual store on sunbum.com
  • Endemic Media: Plan Sun Bum's strategy for Endemic media and manage the execution and budget of these campaigns.
  • Lifestyle Portfolio: Develop an overall lifestyle product pipeline and channel strategy with Art Director, be a resource for brand teams to commercialize lifestyle items for their own pillars, and work with Digital Director to execute our DTC Lifestyle Strategy.
  • Budget Owner: Track monthly/quarterly Brand Activation and Partnerships budget, regularly communicating and reconciling spending with the VP of Marketing and Finance.
  • Brand Advocate: Act as a champion for the brand, regularly presenting brand positioning, programming, and performance success stories across internal and external audiences.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in brand management roles within consumer-packaged goods. Experience and passion for the Personal Care industry are preferred.
  • Experience with both large and small companies is a plus. International experience is also a plus.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to track trends and develop or seek out innovative ideas. A Bachelor of Science/Arts degree. An MBA or equivalent Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including leadership, communication, and teamwork
  • Track record of working effectively with cross-functional team members – Product Development, Sales, Operations, and Finance
  • Experience working across the spectrum of media platforms, with an emphasis on social media, endemic and influencer marketing
  • Experience developing relationships with professional athletes and creating sports marketing programs.
  • Ability to be entrepreneurial and methodical
  • Results-oriented and process-driven, with high expectations of self and team
