What We're Looking For
The Marketing Director is someone who has a vast knowledge in marketing, spanning from digital and social media to traditional media strategy. They will lead the development and implementation of strategies that strengthen the company's market presence and help it find a "voice" that will resonate with both endemic and non-endemic gaming audiences. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for marketing, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship to build concepts and ideas from scratch and activate them flawlessly.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team overseeing all entities within the Generation Esports portfolio and covers brand messaging, esports, key partnerships, community management, PR, influencer collaborations, and more.
- Lead the development and delivery of marketing plans that focus on growing audience engagement and visibility for our products and services.
- Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with different stakeholder teams such as business development, sales, operations, success, account management, education and others, as well as strategic partners to maximize impact.
- Consistently analyze and track the performance of marketing campaigns with clear KPIs.
- Supervise the department and provide guidance and feedback to other marketing professionals (Content, Graphics, and Social Media).
- Identify short-term and long-term scheduling, budget, resource needs, including the development and management of an annual marketing budget, profit/loss projections, expenditure spending, and other financial considerations.
- Develop a deep and thorough understanding of our brand, business and competitive positioning, building partnerships that deliver against business objectives and drive affinity for Generation Esports entities in the marketplace.
- Stay current with all facets of the dynamic marketing mix, including digital, social media, experiential, print and broadcast.
Requirements
- 3+ years proven experience as Marketing Director including directly managing a team.
- 5+ years proven experience in the gaming, esports, sports, entertainment, or education industries.
- BS/BA in marketing, business administration, and communications or relevant field preferred, but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of key social and digital media marketing channels, including, but not limited to, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Website SEO, and Paid Digital Advertising.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization and decision-making skills
- Experience in designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns for organizations in the gaming, esports, traditional sports, and/or education industries.
