Cashmere Strategy plays an essential role in the agency operating at this standard. We are bringing on an exceptional talent to collaborate with a growing strategy team in charging forward with a strategic philosophy that lives at the intersection of unparalleled cultural understanding and data & analytics.

Reporting to the Head of Strategy the Strategy Director plays a pivotal role in delivering brave and bold thinking to help brands succeed at their ambitions to be more culturally relevant. This Strategy Director will be an integral part of a new team focusing on delivering unique and creative strategic product for new business prospects as well as supporting established integrated marketing teams.

You have a passion for culture, and a deep understanding of how cultural context relates to the success of a brand, along with an innate ability to translate and connect this to the context of today’s cultural landscape.

You love strategic ideas that inspire creative execution across channels and are skilled at collaborating across departments, including Social, PR, Influencer, Creative Account Management and Experiential Departments to successfully build cohesive integrated marketing plans. You’re capable of translating insights into compelling narratives and ideas, ultimately presenting your POV to agency teams and clients with conviction and flair. You have a proven track record of selling in concepts that translate into successful campaigns that move a brand’s business and leave an impact on culture.

You are a strategic force that sees opportunity in challenge and the many possibilities for what brands can be. You embrace a “how things could be done” mindset rather than hold on to a “this is how it has always been done” mindset. You proactively bring new inspiration, strategic frameworks, content, tools and partners to the projects you lead on, while ensuring it all lives up to Cashmere’s values and standards for its strategic product.

Responsibilities

  • Drive core pieces of business at the agency, with oversight from Strategy leadership
  • Push beyond expected audience insights, especially about multicultural Millennials and Z'ers
  • Develop ground-breaking strategic ideas to ultimately inspire creative big ideas
  • Understand how to design and apply strategic thinking to help our clients achieve success
  • Must be excited about what’s possible strategically when cultural intuition and data validation intersects
  • Research and analyze cultural, audience, brand business and category insights that inform creative strategies and concepts
  • Translate concepts into compelling strategic narratives and effectively create impactful presentations
  • Develop agency briefs out of client briefs
  • Provide feedback that helps work align strategically with our clients’ objectives and goals
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth
  • Manage Sr. Strategist and mentor Associate/Junior level strategists
  • Successfully navigate client and partner agency relationships
  • Be a source of inspiration to the Head of Strategy for department culture building and collaborator on thought leadership innovation
  • Participate in new business pitches as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or relevant area of study
  • 8+ years of solid experience as a Strategist in a marketing agency environment
  • Strong writer, communicator and presenter
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative research experience
  • Ability to create stunning presentations for agency teams and clients (think stylistic storytelling)
  • Quick thinking and resourceful, with the capability to prioritize and be held accountable for multiple projects with fast turnarounds
  • Strong proficiency in Google Slides
  • Experience applying tech, culture, entertainment, business, and social media trends into strategic ideas and creative solutions
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage insights to draw sound conclusions and recommendations
  • Creativity and innovation are essential and must enjoy working in a dynamic, innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
