Vice President Communications
The Vice President of Communications will be responsible for communications activities including enterprise-wide public relations, brand marketing communications, corporate communications, media relations, issues management, and executive positioning and messaging.
The Vice President of Communications will partner cross-functionally to provide strategic communications counsel while building a strong external communications program, driving innovation through breakthrough earned media strategies and building the messaging and executive communications programs across the TPI Composites organization.
This role serves as a key adviser on messaging and earned media strategies to c-suite executives and teams across the company and leads message development to engage associates and other stakeholders around TPI Composite’s mission, vison and company priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Sets the organization's external communications and public relations strategy to advance business goals and enhance the organization's reputation with the public, the media, associates, investors, shareholders and other stakeholders.
- Serves as a media spokesperson for the company for a wide range of company topics including corporate financial, company growth, marketing/branding and community
- Oversees the development and execution of external and executive communication strategies and plans that protect and enhance the organization's reputation and deliver measurable impacts that are effective, economical, and appropriate for their intended audience; manages cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects with high visibility, collaborating with key partners to develop integrated, multi-channel communications strategies
- Owns social media presence across multiple platforms, develops strategy and owns execution of plans that position TPI as a destination for top talent
- Develops strategies that engage all levels of associates at TPI with a special eye towards creative ways to engage our non-networked population
- Responsible for integrating and implementing holistic marketing communication strategies, such as creative execution and positioning, advertising, customer events and exhibits, sales collateral, content marketing, promotional materials, web and digital programming.
- Leverage new channels, techniques and identify optimally effective marketing communications strategies to meet the marketing objectives for the businesses.
- Serves as a strategic business partner to senior and executive leaders across specific business units, working to understand business unit goals and objectives and developing communication strategies that promote organizational understanding and alignment, key messaging and media plans that enhance the corporate and brand initiatives; advises and counsels highest executives on media opportunities influencing, persuading and engaging executives to gain buy-in and advocacy
- Develops and implements media training for TPI Composites’ executives and coaches individuals across the enterprise participating in external engagements
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with critical stakeholders internally and externally, identifying and fostering the right media and influencer relationships
- Actively support, coach, develop and mentor talent within the function and across the organization as well as overseeing agency partners
Required Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or Business Administration OR 10+ years of experience in advertising or marketing communications at an agency/corporation
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex challenges
- Proven track record of delivery to budgets and timelines
- Demonstrates advanced experience leveraging new tools, technologies, platforms, methodologies and strategies to advance media and influencer relations and improve overall engagement
Preferred Education:
- Master’s Degree in Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or Business Administration
