VP, Performance Marketing
Job Summary:
Harmelin Media has a position available for a Vice President, Performance Marketing. The preferred candidate is based in Philadelphia, but qualified candidates from anywhere in the US will be considered.
This position will be responsible for formalizing Harmelin’s performance practice, growing a team, and expanding the role of performance marketing for our clients. You will work with executive leadership to define and execute on the vision of our performance marketing team; will identify future talent needs for the team; will fortify any underdeveloped performance services within the agency; will train account teams and other staff members on performance marketing; and will own the ultimate responsibility for the execution of the team’s client campaigns with a laser focus on the pursuit of performance goals.
You will work collaboratively with the rest of the company leaders (across Media, Data, Technology, and Marketing) to expand Harmelin’s performance services, and you’ll provide industry thought leadership. You will interface with senior leadership at the agency’s clients, participate in client and internal meetings, and are expected to continually innovate the agency’s performance practice. You will lead by developing a team culture of collaboration combined with accountability. And you’ll have the opportunity to build something truly important to the agency’s future.
VP, Performance Marketing Responsibilities:
This role will incorporate the following areas:
- Service Development – You will assess Harmelin’s current performance marketing capabilities and make recommendations for additional services to be developed, refinements to existing services, and performance compensation models.
- Staff Development –This position requires a leader who can manage a team of employees and provide them with mentoring and career pathing. You will be responsible for determining appropriate team skillsets and team composition.
- Strategic Planning –Your team will develop go-to-market campaign strategies with performance and accountability taking center stage.
- Account Management - Your team will provide responsive service to clients and other stakeholders with an eye toward building long-term, profitable partnerships.
- Thought Leadership – You will keep yourself informed of the latest developments in the performance marketing arena. You will actively work to keep both Harmelin’s clients and our internal staff up to date on performance trends.
- Company Growth – When appropriate, you will be asked to work with Harmelin’s new business team to aid prospecting of new clients, including building both capabilities and strategic presentations, and serving as a member of a pitch team.
- If not based in Philadelphia, you’ll maintain contact with management at Philadelphia headquarters, including a minimum of four in-person visits to Philadelphia annually.
Keys to Success:
You've successfully built a performance marketing practice and led and executed performance marketing campaigns. You’ve taken ownership of enhancing a growing agency practice. You have a strong understanding of the wide variety of performance strategies and tactics (search, social, SEO, programmatic, CRO, affiliate, email, etc.) and how to use them to positively affect customer lifetime value. You understand the relationship between digital and traditional media and will work with our experts in both areas. You have an advanced understanding of cross-channel attribution and measurement.
Other Keys to Success:
- 10+ years’ experience in performance marketing
- Experience with in-platform optimizing and analyzing campaigns
- Excellent technological skills and fluency in tools such as Google Analytics, GMP product suite, Tableau, CDPs, 1P data systems, forecasting tools
- Digitally-forward critical thinker with integrated experience
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to foster a strong team culture with a growth mindset
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with clients, partner agencies, vendors, and co-workers
- Must be a self-starter with initiative and have a positive, proactive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously
