Every family is unique, and that uniqueness is expressed through the stories they tell. We believe the bonds between individual family members (immediate and extended) are strengthened by collaboratively sharing your unique family stories and engaging in meaningful interactions. As the bonds strengthen, so does the quality of life for the individual, the family, and their communities.
Who We Are Now
Story Legacy is a video-based family storytelling company. We offer one-of-a-kind Zoom recording sessions to help people capture the stories, smiles, and laughter that make their family…their family. Our highly personalized service makes the experience easy, meaningful, and FUN!
We currently sell our products using Shopify’s Buy Button feature on our website. We completed our first beta test over Christmas and are currently in our second beta test.
Who We Want to Be
We want to be the largest repository of family stories and interactions in the world. Think of us as a virtual dinner table around which an entire family can share in the storytelling. Our platform will give each family the opportunity to create their family tree (think Ancestry.com). Each individual member can curate their life story through selected content. That life is represented through a life-timeline that is fully accessible by all future generations included in the family tree. This allows families to create a legacy of stories.
Our Story
Story Legacy was started by Christopher Brace, a senior-level marketing executive who ran his own global strategic consulting firm. He also worked for Clorox, Unilever, and Kellogg’s, and global ad agencies J. Walter Thompson and TBWA Worldwide.
Christopher has spent years researching the important role stories play in how people communicate and interact, especially families. He is passionate about using technology to help families connect and engage through meaningful interactions.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a missionary (not a mercenary), someone who believes in the purpose and vision of the company. A passionate leader who believes in family and the power of stories.
- 5 - 7 years experience in digital marketing
- Ambition and drive to build a global company – in it for the long-haul
- Excited about making a positive impact on society through your talent and knowledge of the digital/social marketing ecosphere
- Strong connection to your own family stories
- Deep understanding of Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, Pinterest Ads Manager, and the full Google Analytics suite
- Optimized ad performance across Google, Facebook, and Pinterest.
- Led a digital team (2-3 people) in an e-commerce or DTC company
What Will Your Responsibilities Be?
As the Director of Story Generation, you will work closely with the Founder & CEO on strategy, insights, and messaging. We are in the bootstrapping phase, so we have lots of ground to cover with limited budgets.
- Assist in setting business objectives and marketing strategy
- Develop key insights that will serve as the foundation of the brand’s messaging across all touchpoints
- Develop campaign ideas around key gift-giving holidays and occasions
- Build campaigns, ad sets, and ads in Google, Facebook, and Pinterest
- Help manage influencer, blogger, and PR efforts
- Participate in building the grassroots program for building traction
- Build, lead, and manage a team of digital marketers
Compensation
We are a pre-seed startup and funded through friends and family, which means there is no money for a salary. You can work remotely and continue in your current job while you work for Story Legacy on the side. Once we have enough funding to pay salaries, you will be expected to come on board full time. The starting compensation will be an equity offer with a set vesting schedule and additional stock options granted over time.
