What You'll Do

The VP, Influencer & Creator Marketing at Blue Hour Studios will be tasked with driving significant advancement and evolution in two key areas: 1. client adoption, education and understanding of the creator and influencer marketing space and tactics as part of broader go-to-market digital marketing plans, and 2. the oversight of best-in-class influencer and creator projects.

Key responsibilities are identified as follows. Please note that true to the entrepreneurial freedom that Blue Hour encourages, any responsibilities and activities not listed, but which the candidate views as necessary to elevate efforts to best-in-class should be pursued in agreement with candidate’s manager and added to the formal job responsibility at regular performance review intervals.

40% - Influencer & Creator Strategy + Practice Leadership

  • Develops executable ideas that elevate our collective service offering (the integration of marketing services to bring to life specific campaign or project ideas) and sees them through to completion
  • Identifies ownable ways to productize our influencer and creator services that distinguish them from similar industry offerings
  • Strategically establishes, on an ongoing basis, long-term relationships with complementary partners that inform our new business strategy, the market’s appetite for specialized services, and the way we position the practice. Think: gaming specialists, localized influencer services, shoppable video technologies, etc.
  • Oversees strategic planning and consultation for internal teams, and external clients
  • Develop data and measurement framework for our clients to prove campaign success and differentiate our capability
  • Stays at the forefront of practice-enhancing opportunities – i.e. partnerships, platforms, key relationships, and team learning opportunities and translates that into tangible value and outcomes for our clients and team
  • Oversee the influencer and creator practice financial forecast in collaboration with the Director of Talent
  • Collaborates with VP, Business Development and VP, Brand to determine revenue and pricing structures for our work across varying client engagements

30% - Thought Leadership / Innovation

  • Must be able to lead practice and industry innovation by selling through new ways of doing creator and influencer marketing.
  • Experiments with emerging platforms strategically in a continually evolving space
  • Formulates and acts on specific vision for the best way to build Influencer & Creator expertise within Blue Hour Studios
  • Applies near hypervigilance to the assessment of the landscape of external Influencer / Creator companies (platforms, managed service offerings, agencies), client appetite for Influencer involvement, structures at competitor agencies, evolving models and technologies
  • Educates and inspires agency colleagues on influencer and creator opportunities, and when they come into consideration throughout planning and brand development processes
  • Leverages Blue Hour’s production capability and physical studio space to incentivize influencers, creators and brands to return for future projects
  • Recommends additional ways to integrate production capabilities into influencer and creator projects as they arise, and thinks holistically about how these services benefit one another

10% - Team Management

  • Leads and oversees a team that is responsible for executing all influencer and creator projects, as well as supporting the responses to both external and ‘internal RFPs’ with thoughtful, best-in-class proposals
  • Enhances and challenges the team’s thinking to optimize their overall recommendations and execution
  • Identifies, collaborates with, and leverages appropriate cross-functional agency teams (Brand, Creative, Strategy) to optimize campaigns and continually improve process/workflow
  • Ensures client satisfaction of work produced by the influencer campaign execution team

  • You understand the difference between #ad posts and well-made creator-led content and have a realistic vision of how the latter can be better executed.
  • You have strong, evidenced points of view about ways of working and creating, and approach every problem through your own unique lens. You’re flexible enough to adapt your point of view upon unearthing something that strengthens it.
  • You believe that brands can be their own storytellers with the help of creators and influencers that understand and love their brand sincerely.
  • You get that celebrated and relatable personalities can help brands develop their audiences, and that branded content can be entertaining, educational, escapism, product-centric, or service other human needs in our world today.
  • You must have a passion for creativity, innovation and learning about the future of media, particularly social and digital.
  • You understand the difference between data and insights and have a knack for synthesizing complex subjects into digestible insights.
  • You know how to rationalize programs and ideas for brand marketers, recognizing brand identity and personality, strategic business priorities, and the potential for earned media or unexpected added value. You can help mentor the team to do the same via your own framework.
  • You conceive of headlines (even in your mind) for programs you’ve yet to sell through with thorough understanding of what makes your ideas and methods unique.
  • You love solving problems, are curious and entrepreneurial, and are comfortable navigating complexity. Reading, listening, and absorbing the world around you. Ready to embrace ambiguity and create alongside your co-workers.
