Job Overview And Responsibilities

The United Airlines Advertising and Social Media team seeks a dynamic Manager to join its strategy and planning function.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Advertising and Social Media Strategy, you will be the primary day-to-day influencer/paid social media planner, responsible for identifying which social media platforms and influencers that are best to partner with for specific messages globally. Specifically overseeing all influencer relations with the objective of elevating relationships with influencers into even more marketing and communications channels and campaigns. You’ll work closely with influencers/social/advertising platforms, tourism boards, as well as our external agencies. You bring either agency experience (from a media, advertising or communications agency - on the account or strategy/planning functions) and/or in-house experience on a similar team within a large consumer brand. This position can be based in either Chicago or Los Angeles.

  • Refines and executing influencer strategy and plans that elevate the United brand and specific initiatives
  • Manage ongoing relationships and source any new partnerships/content creators
  • Suggest new and innovative ways to enhance current influencer approach and partnerships
  • Strategically plan each partnership and campaign to maximize brand awareness and return on spend
  • Work closely with operations to conduct regular reporting and further refine definitions of successful of partnerships
  • Manage the development of paid social media plans that deepen brand awareness and loyalty as well as hiring
  • Liaise with community management/engagement teams related to influencer work

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Social or Digital Media, New Media
  • 4+ years agency experience (from a media, advertising or communications agency
  • Proven experience in influencer marketing and paid social media planning across a variety of mediums/platforms
  • Familiarity with media planning/buying terminology and KPIs
  • Knowledge of today’s relevant media and social channels and a passion for studying online and offline media trends
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and ensure attention to detail
  • Understanding of business, influencer and social media best practices
  • Ability to collaborate and work with different internal and external partners
  • Strong, timely communication and feedback
  • Keen judgement on when to use agency resources and when to tackle projects in-house
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Direct experience with account or strategy/planning functions and/or in-house experience on a similar team within a large consumer brand
