Job Overview
A successful Account Supervisor at EvolveMKD will play a lead role on their accounts and are expected to not only demonstrate superior media relations skills, but also have the ability to manage multiple projects and people. They should be a self-starter with strong research, project management, and organization skills. We expect that team members at this level have an inner sense of “restless discontent,” i.e. they are constantly looking to elevate their client work and their personal skill set. We also expect all team members to demonstrate a strong problem-solving abilities and inner drive, as EvolveMKD is a fast-paced, start-up environment. Passion and enthusiasm for the work, as well as team collaboration and respect are required.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Account Management
- Develop and grow client relationships
- Manage day-to-day work flow across direct reports, peers, clients, vendors and freelancers, and report into account lead(s) and/or update CEO as needed
- Work hand-in-hand with the VP & SVP to oversee all client initiatives from start-to-finish in a timely matter, including presenting out-of-the-box new partnership/event/mailer ideas that will ultimately deliver business results
- Run client calls that demand on-the-spot recommendations and proactive thinking (i.e. above and beyond reading off the agenda)
- Organize and run in-person client meetings with poise, presence, and strategic thinking
- Understand client business objectives at a high level and develop thorough strategies to help them achieve those objectives
- Drive execution of forward-facing six- or twelve-month plans, furthering client’s brand strategy through strategic content placement including but not limited to: press releases, media pitches, and events
- Help drive clients’ business goals and objectives through ongoing research and monitoring within their category and against competitors
- Assist in the development of new business proposals
Media Relations
- Develop existing and grow new media relationships
- Pitch and secure placements for client brands across different industries, as needed
- Drive strategy and execute promptly, ensuring no email or question goes unread
Team Management
- Be able to “manage up” and effectively communicate issues/successes to senior staff
- Manage and mentor junior staff to further their professional and personal growth
- Execute bi-annual reviews for direct report(s)
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant agency PR experience
- 1-2+ years of management experience
- Bachelor’s degree; degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing a plus but not required
- Experience working on healthcare brands, ideally within consumer health and/or aesthetics focus, a plus
- Experience working on regulated brands and using regulatory approval systems a plus
- Existing media contacts within health and lifestyle verticals
- Big picture thinker, with strong writing, copy-editing, and presentation skills
- Ability to ideate and execute end-to-end client strategy, down to the small details
- Proven track record of generating results
- Personal time management skills; ability to work quickly under pressure without sacrificing quality
- Highly organized, responsive, and punctual
- Problem solving skills and inner drive to improve efficiency and delivery beyond expectations for both the agency and for clients
- Experience in beauty and/or healthcare preferred
