Job Description/Requirements
The Director will be responsible for leading IMAX's digital marketing strategy while coordinating with key internal stakeholders across Brand Marketing, Exhibitor Marketing, Film Marketing, International Marketing and Live Event Marketing to ensure alignment and effectiveness of all digital advertising and communication efforts.
The Director will be charged with architecting and implementing non-traditional communications programs using CRM, digital advertising, and digital media to generate demand for the IMAX products and services as well as fan engagement. In addition, the Director will lead, inspire, and grow the organic social media team. The Director will contribute to the development of all digital marketing communications programs regardless of objective (awareness, acquisition, retention, loyalty) across all digital channels.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of developing and executing innovative digital communications programs and marketing initiatives. The successful candidate must have advanced knowledge and understanding of the digital media and marketing landscapes, trends and best practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive and implement innovative digital marketing and media strategies for the Marketing organization to maximize IMAX exposure and brand value, including but not limited to programs that support key film, live event, and brand advertising campaigns as well as the execution of original promotions.
- Provide thought leadership to multiple levels of management in the areas of digital marketing and media. Regularly interact with management on matters concerning digital and social especially trends and issues that can impact the IMAX brand.
- In partnership with the Digital Products (e.g. website) Team, guide and influence company-wide digital marketing efforts by acting as an advocate for the integration of all initiatives across the Company.
- Oversee all aspects of the development of digital marketing communication campaigns (ideation, creative and execution) in partnership with multiple teams (e.g. Film Marketing, Exhibition Marketing, etc.).
- Lead and direct partner agencies to ensure delivery of objectives within budget and industry leading execution.
- Lead mentor and grow a high-performing organic social media team while helping to coordinate influencer programs across digital marketing and PR organizations.
- Ongoing evaluation and research into new tools, resources and applications to enhance digital marketing initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 8 plus years’ experience leading digital Marketing Communications programs within consumer goods, technology, or entertainment industries.
- Significant digital marketing strategy and leadership experience.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of CRM, digital media (paid, earned, programmatic, SEM), digital advertising creative, social media, and a strong understanding of consumer behaviors and trends.
- Ability to effectively influence and gain buy-in across multiple levels of a matrixed organization.
- Experience working with global markets and thinking about scalable benefits and programs that also localize where appropriate.
- A ‘fan-centric’ mentality and experience driving audience-based initiatives
- Ability to ingest multiple data sources across consumer research, testing, and business inputs and develop recommended action.
- An innate curiosity and ability to breakdown complex analyses into concise, straightforward recommendations and marketing initiatives.
- Ability to consistently deliver impact and strong cross-functional partnerships.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects.
- Team oriented, proactive, flexible and with a desire to learn and grow.
- A passion for technology, entertainment, and/or fandoms is strongly preferred.
