Your Role At Sephora

As the External CSR Communications Manager you will support the development of our communications strategies for our corporate initiatives, including our CSR programming (Social Impact, Diversity and Inclusion programs), proprietary storytelling (audible and Sephora owned speaking engagements, white paper and newsroom) and retailer awareness programs including industry awards and strategic speaking opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Public Relations, the programming management and strategy this role provides ladders into the company goals of driving business and consumer awareness, elevating brand reputation and sales, ultimately keeping Sephora beloved by all.

  • Support the Sr. Manager, Public Relations in strategy, planning and execution of Comms tactics supporting DE&I messaging objectives to increase earned media coverage and grow retailer sentiment.
  • Support and develop a CSR media centric strategy and a supporting calendar, execute accordingly, laddering into the larger goal of growing awareness and retailer sentiment.
  • Plan and lead the speaking and interview engagements for brand spokespeople including DE&I, digital, sustainability, marketing, and merchandising ambassadors.
  • Oversee bi-annual progress report storytelling and share out strategy.
  • Help lead and complete relevant cross functional, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Lead our proprietary storytelling tools and calendarized moments including our newsroom, white papers (LinkedIn Voices, etc.) leadership profiles and development of new Sephora led-audible programming.
  • Help lead day-to-day management of the US public relations agencies, providing direction and supervising execution of press outreach and activities for company and brand initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams in Marketing, DE&I and Internal Comms to evaluate, plan and coordinate upcoming program focuses and relevant updates.
  • Operate as lead contact for Internal comms, including briefing and aligning announcement programming, business and best practices share outs, and sharing Sephora news for a variety of internal audiences.
  • Lead contact for LVMH Media, including managing LVMH extranet, VOICES and DMR reporting.
  • Maintain composure, problem solve, and partner with both internal and external groups to ensure the retailer and brand is represented according to our values in all situations.
  • Assist in managing the Public Relations budget, calendar and marketing task list with ease.

What we are looking for and believe you need as a candidate:

  • 5+ years public relations experience, in-house or agency
  • Experience preferred in multiple communications realms, including beauty, consumer goods, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and technology
  • Experience in all realms of media, including new media, but not limited to managing influencer strategies and relationships
  • Expertise in counseling senior leadership through various corporate, customer service and social media issues
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal), with a keen understanding of press relations and how to balance messaging and company priorities as a spokesperson
  • Strong presentation capabilities, can communicate upward and laterally, informing partners well and with ease
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities and ability to partner with other groups
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, can juggle many projects at once
  • Entrepreneurial thinker, values the capabilities and work quality of a team, has a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
  • Self-starter, committed, resourceful, can take a project or program from start to completion
  • Charisma, thinks on the fly, can balance personality and professional perspective with business objectives and priorities
  • Thrives in an environment with a large amount of public exposure and a diverse range of personalities and opinions
