Senior Brand Manager, 1800 Tequila
Position Summary
The Tequila category is experiencing explosive growth, and 1800 Tequila is the #1 super premium tequila in the United States. With deep Mexican heritage and a storied legacy of taste, 1800 Tequila boasts the title of the world’s most awarded tequila family.
We are seeking a senior brand manager who can develop, implement and manage brand activations across communications, innovation, and commercial to drive consumer increases in brand awareness and purchase. Prior experience developing and executing consumer advertising and communication strategy across the marketing mix is required. The person who will be successful in this position has strong marketing expertise along with a mindset that is creative, innovative, and passionate about culture (sports, music, art, fashion, and much more). Capable to both lead teams/projects and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
Principal Role & Responsibilities
- Develop brand strategy and plans from ideation through to execution, to drive long-term growth for the brand
- Oversee the development of the advertising and communication annual plan including integrated advertising campaigns, content production, paid and earned media planning, and social media.
- Execute marketing campaigns that move with the speed of culture in order to remain connected & relevant with consumers and their passion points
- Execute marketing campaigns from media-to-shelf considering all touchpoints along the path to purchase, including TV, Digital, OOH, and in-store
- Partner with external agencies (i.e. creative, digital, social, media) and nurture internal sales team relationships to develop and execute marketing content and activations. Ensure integration and overall strategic alignment with defined rules of engagement across agencies.
- Identify new digital media strategies that position 1800 Tequila at the leading edge of the market to deliver content to consumers in new & compelling ways.
- Effectively manage brand budgets to optimize marketing spend
- Coach Assistant Brand Manager to develop capabilities and offer stretch projects to help advance necessary skills sets
- Manage Assistant Brand Manager in day-to-day partnership with Trade Marketing to own the development of commercial selling tools & merchandising materials (sell sheets, displays, POS, etc.) to grow distribution and close the sale at the consumers’ moment of choice
- Monitor brand health and performance tracking (Nielsen, Shipments, Numerator, etc.) and effectively manage brand budgets to optimize marketing spend and ROI

Knowledge and Experience
- 7 to 10 years marketing experience, Spirits or FMCG preferred. Creative or Communication agency experience a plus.
- Creative, conceptual and imaginative, yet practical to solve day-to-day problems.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven track record of managing budgets, working with creative agencies, developing new packaging and a solid working knowledge of Nielsen or IRI.
- Forward thinker, who proactively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer insights and aligning all strategies to feed these needs
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- BS/BA degree in marketing or related field required (MBA a plus)
