As the Public Relations Lead, you will manage earned communications and activation strategy and execution across product innovation, ambassadors/talent, and brand storytelling across total Dove. You are responsible for developing and delivering PR plans that generate earned media coverage, with strong associated media strategies for KPIs. In parallel, ensure that plan meets brand communication goals and that communications are consistent in the look, tone and feel of Dove adhering to overall brand standards.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with consumer and trade beauty print and online media, and broadcast outlets
  • Lead agency relationship to deliver plans, ensuring alignment, consistency, efficiency, effectiveness, and ROI for all earned activities – ultimately driving brand love and differentiation
  • Develop quarterly PR calendars with activities, pitch angles, media strategies, etc. to have a clear and effective holistic annual media strategy that delivers maximum earned coverage for Dove
  • Use Earned media in partnership with brand owned and social channels to deliver local objectives across Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care and Dove MB Purpose
  • Review and approve all press materials, key message documents, briefing documents and media assets across total Dove
  • Generate innovative ideas and identify agile opportunities that can add value to campaigns while challenging agency partners on existing strategies and executions
  • Management of crisis communications as necessary

Internal Collaboration: Partnership with internal stakeholders (including Senior Leadership Teams) in preparation for external-facing communications and media interviews including

  • R&D to develop effective communications that bring to life product benefits in a way that drive earned coverage
  • Global PR team to ensure a cohesive communications strategy, both established and new
  • Community Management and Customer Care teams; approving critical messages and communication that is effective by audience
  • All Dove teams across Beauty & Well-being, Personal Care, Dove MB Purpose, digital and Influencer Marketing

Analytics and Oversight

  • Effective reporting, performance data and analytics to measure ROI on a regular basis – constantly reviewing plans across the total brand and implementing key learnings from what is working/not
  • Oversight of total Dove PR budget
  • Keep informed about competitor activity and think creatively about how our plans can help us to stand out from the crowd

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • 2+ years of experience specializing in public relations at an agency or as in an in-house PR with existing relationship with editors and press required
  • Proven results in driving massive earned coverage for both product innovations and purpose campaigns
  • Experience developing and managing strong earned media strategies designed to increase brand awareness, coverage and overall talkability in culture
  • Experience with paid and earned influencer marketing a plus
  • Experience managing PR agencies, talent, brand ambassadors and brand partnerships a plus
  • Ability to tell actionable stories with data, and experience with analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other PR data analytic systems
  • Proven ability to oversee and track multiple projects with various due dates and varying requirements and priorities in a highly challenging environment
