The company is experiencing exponential growth and is seeking to hire an innovative Intellectual Property Specialist, Brand Protection in Los Angeles, CA. The Intellectual Property Specialist, Brand Protection will conduct digital and in-person investigations for counterfeit operations, threat hunting, authorized support of external entity investigations and cyber enhancements, this person will report as a strategic advisor to the Executive Team.

PRIOR EXTRACTION EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and investigating criminal activity relating to intellectual property and trademark violations for all Jeeter – A DreamFields Brands
  • Coordinate investigative efforts with Private Investigative Groups, Local Law Enforcement, Customs Agencies, and Corporate Attorney’s
  • Preparation and database management of case reports covering investigative details and findings as well as identifying control weakness with recommended solutions
  • Conduct regional web investigations and support influencer vetting programs, focused on accuracy, efficiency, measurements, and the development of cross-functional team members assisting with these matters
  • Execute open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigation requests in a timely manner, providing objective reporting in a standardized format
  • Coordinate verification efforts with Home Office Personnel to determine authenticity of infringing products
  • Conduct training with local authorities, and maintain and evolve our global trainings/programs for our internal and external partners
  • Perform market surveys to identify others infringing our Intellectual Property Rights
  • Identify opportunities or weakness of current control process and executes business process improvements to strengthen operations
  • Oversee a team of internal and external third-party service providers for fraud investigations
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of government laws and regulations
  • Recommend punitive measures and recovery plans for lost funds
  • Travel as necessary to effectively investigate and shut down illegal counterfeit operations outside of company

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 5 years of experience with investigations, brand protection, or asset protection
  • Knowledgeable in intellectual property rights and anti-counterfeiting
  • Experience investigating on-line infringements and familiarity with Internet law
  • Proficient with e-commerce, social media, and other digital platforms
  • Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working on highly sensitive matters
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently
  • Experience using business intelligence databases is a plus
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check
  • Minimum of 25% travel
