The Strategic Communications Group

OVERVIEW

This position will have responsibility for client relationships and day-to-day account operations on a specified set of accounts. This role also serves as the key right hand/lieutenant to one of the Company’s PR executives, providing comprehensive partnership and support to advance media relations, develop and drive strategy, and assist with new business activities. The ideal candidate is a skilled, mature professional with solid PR/Communications experience from both agency and corporate vantage points; with equal parts smarts & polish; thorough and detail oriented with exceptional follow up; current and curious about how the world of communications is evolving; and is a talented media relations pro with a good network of contacts and relationships, and the ability to develop innovative, creative ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead selected accounts with guidance and direction from supervisor
  • Drive media relations for selected accounts and deliver meaningful press placements with an emphasis on thought leadership vehicles and outlets
  • Build and maintain connections with industry professionals, media and talent to keep a strong, current network that can lead to crate new opportunities for clients
  • Develop and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients at all levels
  • Effectively ideate, develop, sell in, and execute client work
  • Manage internal and/or external team members as per each account’s requirements (as needed)
  • Maintain steady dialogue with supervisor to keep apprised of day-to-day account status, client relationship status, big ideas, issues and opportunities
  • Participate as required in new business activities including pitch submissions, brainstorming and pitch/prospect meetings
  • Partner as needed with other Full Picture divisions (Consulting, Production) to leverage other resources, capabilities and relationships for clients
  • Stay current on industry news, changes and events

SKILLS & QUALITIES

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in public relations with some agency experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in corporate/ strategic communications
  • Minimum 3 years of client management experience
  • Established relationships with long lead, short lead and online editors in at least two of the following sectors: tech, food & beverage/CPG, Web3, financial, corporate
  • Skilled and comfortable presenting to clients in formal and informal settings
  • Demonstrated history of successfully securing meaningful press placements including profiles/features
  • Experience managing and developing a team for both performance and growth
  • Hands-on experience writing clear, interesting, effective press releases, media alerts, press pitches, and other materials
  • Keen understanding of the influencer landscape across multiple social media platforms
  • Able to work well and remain both calm and solution-oriented under pressure such as when faced with multiple deadlines and tight turnaround schedules
