Summary:

The Business Messaging Group is looking for a brand strategist to join the marketing team as a full-time contractor. The brand strategist will work on the business messaging portfolio (WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram Direct) which make up 3 of the largest messaging platforms in the world plus more recent acquisitions in customer service such as Kustomer.

The brand strategist will be instrumental in leading, guiding and doing hands-on brand strategy analysis and recommendations. The brand strategist will own projects and influence senior-level thinking to influence decisions and drive action. Successful candidates are collaborative, creative, and analytical, and energized by the idea of connecting brands, people, and businesses in a more meaningful way. It is critical that our ideal candidates can learn new processes and systems, practice their craft and develop analysis and recommendations that rally teams around decisions in a highly cross-functional environment.

Surrounding team & key projects

These roles will be part of the Business Messaging Marketing & Growth Team

• Develop global B2B brand strategy and architecture recommendations for the portfolio and brands within business messaging

• Conduct naming and nomenclature work streams

• Develop nomenclature principles

• Conduct brand and competitive audits to facilitate decision-making

• Lead visual identity design projects in collaboration with external agencies

• Develop positioning, messaging and long-form narratives

• Develop processes and strategic frameworks to optimize brand systems thinking

• Develop and analyzes strategic briefs to inform creative campaign development

• Identify and scale best practices for brand marketing across Global Business Marketing

• Work to define and maintain B2B brand standards, reviews, and governance

• Understand the landscape, company and desired future state

• Work with global teams to create culturally relevant recommendations

Must have skills:

1. Highly skilled at brand strategy and brand architecture work streams for large, complex brand systems including naming, messaging, and nomenclature

2. High competency making concise, informative, and compelling presentations to drive decision making

3. Ability to lead visual identity design work streams including agency management

Nice To Haves:

1. Experience as a cross-functional influencer and partner

2. Creative strategy (the ability to develop briefs and evaluate creative campaigns)

3. Experience working with Fortune 1000 B2B and world-class consumer brands with a global footprint

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, management, finance or economics related subject

• Previous experience in a decision making/strategic management role within a large organization
