The Company

OpenBorder is a business unit of Pangaea Holdings - a holding company focused on powering the global e-commerce movement. OpenBorder is our globalization platform that allows any brand with an e-commerce presence to quickly scale internationally. This platform was built after our founders successfully built and scaled two hypergrowth e-commerce brands internationally and solved several key problems. Our platform makes testing and scaling in international markets dead simple, fast and with minimal upfront commitment by helping with global tax, logistics, and payments solutions.

The Role

We serve as the outsourced international growth team on behalf of our largest clients. We oversee media buying (social, video search), performance creative, social media strategy, email marketing as core competencies. Where it makes sense, we help clients manage affiliate, influencer and audio strategy. We manage the above in 5+ languages. This role will be tasked with building out our professional services arm that seeks to be the best-in-class provider of international performance marketing services.

This will be an entrepreneurial role as this hire will be responsible for hiring, managing and executing upon the activities described. The ideal candidate will look to define industry-wide best practices in international DTC marketing and should view this as an opportunity to develop thought leadership in the space. The role will report directly to one of our founders who previously ran growth and marketing at 2 hypergrowth direct-to-consumer brands.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee core performance channels (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Google), end-end from media buying to creative strategy to measurement
  • Leanly test and build out capabilities in affiliate, influencer and audio
  • Roll your sleeves up and step into day-day growth activities where there are not dedicated full time heads
  • Interface directly with clients to manage performance expectations and communicate strategy
  • Oversee development and requirements of internal measurement tools
  • Hire and mentor new team members, setting the tone and culture for your team
  • Assist sales team in closing key accounts

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a VP of growth or equivalent at a direct-to-consumer company or agency selling to large e-commerce brands
  • Prior experience marketing internationally in more than 1 language is a big plus
  • Ability to think big picture while being nimble and lean. We’re a 30 person team. This role is not for someone solely expecting a management role.
