Social Media and Community Manager
About The Position
Lilac St. is bringing salon quality, pixel-perfect lashes to every single person. We create the world’s lightest, fluffiest, most natural-looking lashes that can be worn for up to 1 week, with no strips, gaps, or magnets.
We are a rapidly growing startup with a tight-knit team seeking someone outgoing, creative, and passionate about taking a beloved beauty startup to the next level. We are a young, scrappy company: at just over 2 years old, we are already at an inflection point in our growth curve, having grown 4x in the last year alone, and planning to continue in our hypergrowth trajectory going forward. You will work within our marketing team and alongside our dedicated influencer management and social media content teams to embody the voice of Lilac St. We will rely on your work to keep our followers engaged and excited, and to provide them news on future launches, refine product ideas with their input, and pass along their questions and concerns so we can continuously improve our lash products and service as a company.
Who you are
- You're fluent in social media. You love being on social media and spending time online. You check and respond to the comments of articles, you ask follow-up questions and you are not afraid to introduce yourself to folks. You know how to stay on-brand AND switch the tone between Twitter and TikTok and why that makes a difference.
- Customer Focus: You are dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services; acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
- Interpersonal skills: this is not a nice to have, this is a must. Applies to both in managing our community as well as building relationships within our Lilac St. team. You easily build rapport with new people, and can defuse high-tensions situations with grace. Under pressure, you can always act with kindness and understanding. You don’t take yourself too seriously, and are able to shake off comments from trolls with ease.
- You like to be hands-on from start to finish. This role is a boots-on-the-ground role. Once you've mastered our voice, you'll be ideating, executing, editing, and posting - then YOU get to see what the audience is loving and pivot accordingly.
- Creative thinker. We want to create experiences that will wow our community, and differentiate us from other companies. You're not afraid to come up with ideas and try new ways of engaging an audience.
- Detail-oriented. You love the nitty-gritty of process, data collection, and documentation: You most likely have a color-coded calendar and can make lists for days. You know that documenting and analyzing data is extremely important for consistent growth and enjoy doing it.
What you’ll do
Account Management
- Be the voice (and face) for Lilac St. managing our Facebook groups (for both our official page and fan group of ~10K total people)
- Coordinate with our social media and influencer reach-out teams to build a cohesive social media content strategy
- Immerse yourself in the brand's “voice” in order to represent Lilac St. in a consistent manner across all social media channels
- Hold and constantly model our community values of inclusion, supportiveness, and kindness. Actively watch out for snark or trolling, and step in appropriately to keep our community a space for healthy, emotionally safe discourse and sharing.
- Coordinate with social media team to manage workflows for calendars, design, and content of social media content
Content creation
- Identify and anticipate social media trends for the brand to participate in or put its own spin on
- Execute social media strategy by assisting in the creation of engaging content, including photography, videography, and copywriting for captions
Represent the customer throughout Lilac St.
- Work with product team, supply chain & quality control team, customer service team etc. to represent our customers’ voices in every aspect of the company
- Work with the rest of the Marketing team to coordinate promo planning and communication plans
Reporting
- Understand key metrics and define them specifically for social media to create monthly analytics reports and measure marketing campaigns
- Analyze effective benchmarks for measuring performance and impact of social media efforts in order to determine campaign effectiveness through relevant monitoring tools
- Utilize information in future marketing decisions, allowing data to influence planning
Qualifications
- 2+ years of social media / online community management experience
- 1+ years experience managing social media channels and/or campaigns
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently
- Superior verbal, written, copy editing, and proofreading skills
- Experience with social media reporting tools such as Iconosquare, Google Analytics, Curalate, and more
- Understanding of social media KPI
- Ability to use quantitative & qualitative data to inform, measure, and engage our communities
- Enjoys working with a fun team that doesn’t take themselves too seriously!
- Passion about lashes and beauty is a plus!
