As a Social Media Manager at Gen, you will be a part of the nimble and evolving global social media and content marketing team working across brands and regions. Your primary role will lead the LifeLock brand as well as new products for Norton and staying closely connected to the Norton brand lead. You’ll be responsible for helping strategize, plan, concept and bring to life forward-thinking content for our social channels and blogs as well as weighing in on the Influencer program and staying close to the social community as well as working on projects for other brands as needed
This person is the Swiss army knife that understands strategy, planning and managing those plans into execution with our social media and content agencies. This person should have a strong strategic and creative mind while demonstrating pragmatic social media program management as well as solid content marketing strategy development. This person will be the social and content champion for their brand(s) - making sure the strategy is carried through all plans while working closely with the agencies on execution. At the same time, this person will be responsible for program performance and leaning into the data and keeping a pulse on the community built around it to achieve key success metrics. You will find remarkable stories to bring to life and apply the modern tricks of the social media trade that make people stop and want to engage with us. In addition, you'll work closely with our agencies and our internal creative team to develop the best content possible and drive its development from start to finish.
You will also play a key role in community building/brand love and influencer efforts. The role is responsible for working closely with the influencer managers or agency partners and finding creative ways to interject our brand into conversations with consumers to drive strategic value to the brand’s overall reputation. You will help drive the social voice of the brand and encourage dialogue in our social communities.
This role reports to the Head of Global Social Media Marketing and sits within our Global Integrated Marketing team in our Global Marketing, Brand and Communications organization. This role works closely with our global brand integrated marketing managers, our acquisition media team, partner marketing teams, public relations and many others who have a stake in social and content across our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Brand Management
- Lead the global execution of your brand(s) social and content strategy, content creation, implementation, reporting and optimization
- Have a strong creative POV that maintains a consistent, yet unique, look and feel for your brand(s) throughout all of our social media channels. Understand and own the brand voice, and how that can translate into our social channels.
- Work closely with our Integrated Marketing team to understand the overarching brand strategy and how to align and execute that strategy in the work we do
- Work closely with our Consumer Marketing brand team to ensure adherence with our brand guidelines
- Have the ability to project manage the creative process with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Social Media and Influencers
- Have strong knowledge of social media platforms, including how the general public uses each one and the visual languages and tones on each.
- Work with agency and a cross-departmental team to develop the master content calendar for all social properties.
- Follow the latest media industry trends, including new features, platforms, techniques and advertising formats, with a knack for experimentation.
- Leverage existing assets and UGC to maintain active real-time presence on social channels or work with teams to create high-quality real-time content if there is not existing content available.
- Work with teams to create visual content with stopping power - such as images, memes, gifs, infographics, video clips, and 360, that live natively on social.
- Work with the agency and team lead for influencers to cultivate relationships with social influencers for possible collaborations and creative development.
- Monitor channels (beyond typical daytime working hours) and be aware of current news and how it might impact social media (ex. Crisis management)
- Understand paid social boosting and whitelisting for influencers – be able to work closely with agency and team lead on budget planning and execution
- Content
- Implement blog strategy - with agency and internal editor - to bring content to our blogs (Including translation and localization efforts for priority markets)
- Drive the development of exceptional storytelling experiences through educational and engaging content that will live on our blogs and social media channels with the aim to grow our audience and engagement across multiple social media accounts
- Work with agency to create the editorial calendar for content
- Work with the agency on translations and localization process and be able to plan for content globally
- Community
- Work closely with agency to help guide the voice of the brand across social media communities that will include but is not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, etc..
- Participates in Community Engagement when needed – ie crisis communications
- Reporting and Data
- Set specific objectives, KPIs and goals (with Head of Global Social) and report on ROI. Track analytics across different platforms and properties on an ongoing basis to understand trends and inform best practices. Will provide monthly and quarterly reporting (or ad hoc as needed) with agency partner.

- BA degree in Communications, Marketing, Design, Social Media or other related discipline.
- 5+ years experience in social media, community building or creative social roles.
- A deep understanding and passion for the ever-evolving social media landscape including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat.
- Strong, creative decision-making skills and experience with content curation.
- Knowledge of visual trends, technologies and future of social/digital communication.
- Strong understanding of social analytics and listening platforms. Experience with suite of social media tools is a plus – like Khoros, Meltwater, Sprinklr, etc.
- A healthy appreciation for the power of social media, content and storytelling.
- Highly energetic and prone to taking initiative.
- Visionary: not only create a compelling vision, but also break it down into micro tasks and then execute on this idea efficiently and deliver assets that hit the mark.
