Social Media Content Creator Intern
Internship Summary
The Columbus Symphony is seeking a part-time Content Creator Intern to assist the marketing department by generating organic content for different social media platforms throughout the Symphony's summer season, which includes Nationwide Picnic with the Pops and Nationwide Popcorn Pops events. Ideal candidates should have an interest in music performance, photography/videography, social media, and/or marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works closely with marketing team to create and maintain a regular publishing schedule for organic content, that aligns with CSO marketing campaigns and goals.
- Understands and ensures the brand and voice of the symphony in copy and messaging.
- Coordinates with internal teams to capture and curate high quality, engaging, and shareable content, including text, photography, and videos.
- Acts on-site (Columbus Commons) during Nationwide Picnic with the Pops and Nationwide Popcorn Pops performances to post event updates and live feeds.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Available nights/evenings for rehearsals and Saturdays for events.
- Current or recent undergraduate student with a focus in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience creating organic content for social channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills are required, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite, or other editing platforms.

- Basic understanding of marketing concepts and sales strategy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and email communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Attention to accuracy and detail on all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Video/photography/graphics skills are a plus.
Special Information
We are looking for a candidate who can commit to 10-15 hours a week from June 14-July 27, 2024, with the ability to work in an office, at concerts, and remotely. This is a paid internship at $13/hour. Free parking is included.
