The Big Ten Conference is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director, Marketing. This position executes marketing plans to celebrate the Conference and promote tournaments, championships and events while ensuring key stakeholders are aligned with the goals and standards of the Big Ten Conference. The Associate Director collaborates with the Conference’s marketing partners to ensure that Conference brand standards are being maintained and advanced. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop content and strategies that enhance and elevate the Big Ten Conference brand to fans and constituents
- Manage and strengthen the Conference’s brand identity through ingenuity and creativity while staying true to Conference values and expectations
- Support marketing efforts, including development of media plans and marketing collateral for Big Ten Conference championships, tournaments, events, and initiatives, including ticket and merchandise sales
- Coordinate in-venue production elements at conference championships, tournaments, and events
- Ensure that all partners adhere to approved brand strategy, messaging and graphics standards
- Collaborate with Big Ten Conference institutions to align marketing strategies and efforts across the Conference footprint
- Foster a culture of inclusion to support a diverse environment

- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 4+ years in marketing, creative, graphic design, or related field is required
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills
- A creative mindset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing and production software
- The ability to maintain punctual attendance and timely correspondence
- Commitment to travel, work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours
