As our Corporate Communications Intern , you'll spend the 202 4 -202 5 NBA Season assisting in executing communications and media relations strategies , tactics , and initiatives for the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter, including concerts and events at Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

About the Internship:

• Internship Duration: August 2024 to April 2025, with the potential for an extension.
• Part-time commitment: Expect to work an average of 28 hours per week.
• Location: Portland, Oregon; this is an on-site role, not remote.

As our Corporate Communications Intern, you will:

• Contribute as a department liaison for Rose Quarter events and activities to include writing media releases and advisories, coordinating with concert promoters and publicists, and joining with Brand Strategy in event promotions. Research music, entertainment, and pop culture media to promote the artists, performers and events visiting the Rose Quarter for visibility and ticket sales.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of influencer activations alongside Corporate Communications Coordinator.
• Contribute to the execution of communications plans proactively promoting Trail Blazers business and team. Responsibilities include assisting in drafting press releases, advisories, event coordination and pitching stories. Assists on game nights and other events as requested by department leadership.
• Assist with the creation and distribution of internal clippings and other internal communications items. Using media clipping services, helps create media monitoring reports/analysis of earned media placements resulting from media releases, advisories, interviews, and responses to queries from media outlets.
• Research industry awards, niche media outlets, reporters, and influencers to expand the department’s pitching efforts and reach new audiences.
• Schedule department meetings, maintain department calendars, files and media distribution lists, and act as point of contact for media and other inquiries during business hours.
