The Opportunity
The Partnerships and Cultural Engagement team is a new vertical within Sephora’s External Communications organization. This team will create strategies that uncover unique intersections to drive connection and client loyalty and produce naturally aligned partnerships that empower involved brands to integrate as change agents. Prioritizing content-driven experiences and campaigns to convert audiences from curious fans into loyal clients. This team will establish new internal and external workflows, roles & responsibilities, and integration across all business units within Sephora while emphasizing flexing new and different capabilities. The result is an agile, creative and collaborative team of “culture curators” who collectively work towards rooting our brand in the culture and partnerships of the future.

Responsibilities
Seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as Director, Marketing Partnerships. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a partnerships framework to drive business growth and enhance Sephora’s brand media value. This senior leadership position requires a visionary who can blend critical thinking with hands-on execution, creating campaigns, programming and high-profile events through the lens of beauty and culture. He/She/They will report to Vice President, Marketing Partnerships. Responsibilities include:
Partnership Development & Management (Business Development)
- Identify and develop high-impact partnerships with leading brands, industry leaders and organizations aligned with Sephora’s objectives and values
- Act as a liaison both internally and externally - working closely with internal Media, Campaign & Content, External Communications, Social/Influencer and global marketing teams to integrate partnerships into Sephora’s business strategy as well as externally serve as the main point of contact for partnership management
- Drive Sephora relevance, affinity and earned media value through culture in ownable and creative ways
- Travel to events/conferences related to partnerships
Strategic Planning: (Strategy)
- Develop overall campaign planning and execution of ~$10M partnership budget
- Create annual planning framework to guide the team in achieving key milestones
- Track to relevant KPIs: EMV – earned media value, NPS – net promoter score, brand perception, etc.
- Stay abreast of evolving cultural trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to identify potential partnership areas
Cultural Impact: (Execution)
- Position Sephora as a cultural leader - bringing compelling ideas to life that build brand value and penetrate the cultural zeitgeist
- Identify partners that enhance the Sephora’s reach and engagement with diverse audiences
- Collaborate with tastemakers, celebrities, influencers, industry leaders, and like-minded brands in multiple industries including media, fashion, entertainment, and sports
- Partner with the Brand Marketing to advise on meaningful 3rd party Brand and Sephora philanthropic integration
- Engage Experiential Marketing to identify impactful cultural activations – i.e Fashion Week, Afropunk, CultureCon, HBCU homecoming, award shows, music festivals, etc.
- Work jointly with the Social/Influencer to expand SephoraSounds vertical to include broader media and entertainment opportunities – Podcasts, YouTube Content series, etc. – with a focus on diverse media outlets and agencies
The annual base salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $190,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
