Associate Manager Social Strategy

As the Associate Manager, Social Strategy you play a key role in translating the Ulta Beauty story into engaging and compelling content for our ever-growing community of beauty enthusiasts. Social media is key to our growing business and is one of the first touch points for our guests. You will work cross-functionally to marry all aspects of Ulta Beauty’s organic social media with the storytelling on our digital platforms. Your goals will center around increasing community engagement, building brand loyalty and awareness, and delivering a best-in-class social content experience for the guest.
You have results-driven experience in social media with a clear history of content creation and amplification as well as experience with in-depth reporting and meaningful measurement. You are strategic and analytical, but also creative and guest-oriented. You have a deep knowledge of the beauty industry, pop culture, and social space and are adept in creating unique and engaging content, inspiring communities of social followers, and attracting new guests to the brand.
You will know our Ulta Beauty community intimately and creatively execute content, campaigns, and social strategy. This person must be able to think of the organization's long-term goals and understand the direct role each platform plays in our overall brand development. This position sits within our Social Center of Excellence and will partner with other members of the marketing team and cross-functional partners every day.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thought leadership
- Understand a unified media strategy across owned/earned/paid and how to strategically evaluate brand social in the media mix
- Maintain and optimize Ulta Beauty’s social media playbook and guidelines; Partner closely with creative, copy, and guest services teams to continually hone brand voice to ensure consistency across all channels
- Envision new opportunities to bring the Ulta Beauty brand to life and drive social buzz around priority launches, category and cultural moments
- Act as a leader and “catalyst” who inspires others to deliver bar-raising, best-in-class ideas to enhance the Ulta Beauty social strategy
Strategic Planning & Optimization
- Full responsibility for the strategic planning across key categories to drive awareness and education within our community of followers
- Create focused platform-specific execution strategies for organic social that leverage platform strengths and clearly define role of platform within overall marketing ecosystem
- Oversee content development, distribution, and community management across all major social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest with flawless executional excellence
- Implement innovative tactics that leverage consumer insights and brand strategy to build a best-in-class engagement approach that results in meaningful and long-lasting relationships with our community
- Promote constant learning in all facets of campaigns and creative planning
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Social Center of Excellence partners to ensure best-in-class creative that supports campaign objectives and positive guest experiences
- Collaborate with agency partners and social platform partners to build streamlined ways of working that increase efficiency and outcomes
- Provide guidance on community management and partner closely with teams on crisis management and escalation workflows
Measurement, Reporting & Budget
- Develop KPIs, measurement frameworks, and reporting to drive growth, engagement, and overall performance
- Monitor, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of initiatives; make recommendations to optimize performance; communicate wins across the organization
- Keep a pulse on new and emerging trends and platforms by testing and learning in ways that feel authentic to the Ulta Beauty brand
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- You have a minimum 4 years of full-time experience managing social strategy development and campaign execution at an agency or in-house, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
- You have deep expertise in executing social media and influencer strategy and communicate campaign progress, optimizations, and results broadly within the organization, bringing visibility to successes and opportunities
- You are proficient in social platforms' best practices
- You are a consumer of social media; You stay current with social platform tech and trend developments and standard methodologies to push innovative concepts and test/learn campaigns
- Ownership and accountability are part of who you are; these are how we all make sure we’re focused on the highest-leverage opportunities and are driving effective change
- You leverage data with ease and can identify trends and respond decisively
- You effectively share guidance, provide feedback, and are comfortable building narratives with data and social insights
