We are currently looking for a Paid Media Strategist to join one of the group’s specialist divisions. This division partners with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, to work on the critical issues of our time, including the climate emergency, national security, social justice, conflict prevention, and sustainable development. We provide a fully integrated, end to end service, combining multi-discipline communications teams with subject matter experts, across the world. Our work is domestic and global, often affecting the most vulnerable in society, with international activity orientated towards conflict affected or developing countries.

This role is based out of our New York office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be the lead point of contact for communications strategy and media planning output across a diverse project set in multiple countries. Particular focus will be on the North America and LATAM regions.
  • To bring a rigorous approach to the development of media dissemination strategies in order to effect knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in target audience groups across the world.
  • To use and champion multiple sources of research, best practices and critical thinking to embed an innovation mindset into the projects’ media approach.
  • To set an example within the agency in media strategy/management and digital communications to answer client problems by developing effective ways of working, tools and techniques and sharing them with the wider organisation.
  • To give communications strategy and media guidance to other members of the strategy and other departments as and where appropriate.
  • To manage junior media strategists working as part of the team to deliver on client objectives

About You:

    • 4+ years experience in media planning or media strategy.
    • Experience of designing, presenting and implementing integrated media campaigns in a range of channels, including but not limited to television, OOH, radio, social, programmatic advertising and influencer marketing.
    • To have a working knowledge of the pros and cons of earned media channels including social media, public relations and public affairs.
    • Knowledge of fundamental techniques, tools and practices of a media strategist.
    • Ability to quickly analyse and process large volumes of data from multiple sources to generate insight and recommendations.
    • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders both internally (e.g messaging strategists and creative staff/partners) and external (suppliers and media owners) to ensure the media and communication strategy creates the greatest impact with the resources available.
    • An ability to understand the culture and media landscape of a country and be able to translate this into usable insight for the dissemination of messages through paid, earned and owned media.
    • Experience managing junior members of staff
    • Have previously worked on new business proposals
    Desirable:
    • Experience of working with NGOs, governmental and/or social impact activities is a plus.
    • An understanding of the role of communications in behaviour change.
    • A working understanding on the prominent digital / social media platforms in regard to social and digital media buying and campaign set-up

What we offer:

M&CS offers a competitive benefits package including: 25 vacation days, 401k match, annual pay reviews, flexible working, and WFH opportunities. Salary is dependent on experience but ranges from: $120,000 - $150,000. All candidates must have the ability to work in the US; we are unable to sponsor any work visas for this role.
