Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative marketing strategies that will build the Cognizant CMT business units in effort to increase brand awareness and reputation, drive new sales activity and revenue, and build relationships among our target and prospect buyer audiences. The ideal candidate has impeccable communication and leadership skills, with proven success in managing fast-growing organizations through quickly changing markets as well as in traditional and digital marketing techniques and campaigns.
We are looking for a game-changer marketer with strategic, creative and financial acumen who possesses the agility to flourish in a matrixed marketing team environment and the diplomacy and navigational skills needed in a large, Fortune 500 organization. He/she will be a member of the NA field marketing team but will work day to day with the Cognizant Industry/Pillar leadership team who will also provide the program budget.
Overall Requirements
- A visionary with deep understanding of traditional and new, digital marketing strategies, with a track record of innovative campaigns that look “around corners” and generate impact
- Experience developing high level marketing strategies in the context of rapidly-evolving technologies
- Experience aligning multiple and diffuse agendas to critical brand and marketing objectives
- A marketing leader with expert knowledge of the services industry and technology and business trends
Key Responsibilities
- Building brand awareness and reputation for the CMT business units
- Development of annual marketing and communications strategic plans and budgets
- Management of industry specific content development for demand generation
- Development of industry specific digital marketing and social marketing content
- Management of CMT web strategy, including editorial content and measurement of effectiveness (working with the web team)
- Management of CMT event and sponsorships (working with the events team)
- Development of internal communications channels and events (working with Internal Comms team)
- Build a customer story “center of excellence” to use the power of storytelling to convey the Cognizant messages
- Tie together the multiple digital efforts within Cognizant in a way that multiplies the impact and inspires the people working on them
- Develop ongoing and multi-layered promotional efforts to keep target audiences informed and inspired about the work that Cognizant does among Comms, Media and Technology companies.
- Hire, mentor and develop a team of field marketers focusing on demand generation, Account Based Marketing (ABM), sales enablement and events and hospitality.
Desired capabilities/relationships
- Domain knowledge of Communications, Media & Technology industries with specific understanding of the ‘languages’ of these business units
- Influencer experience to enable innovative, multichannel marketing campaigns
- Experience managing relationships between BU leaders, media and other industry professionals
- Strong understanding of professional services buyer values and relationship development activities
- Ability to build rapport and confidence among key leadership
- Significant experience in project management and budgeting with a focus on maximizing return on investment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree required, MBA preferred.
- 15-20 years of well-rounded consulting services marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on market expansion and identifying emerging trends
- 5-10 years of managing high-performance teams in highly matrixed organizations
- Willingness to “dive in”—not simply outsource tasks—with a “hands-on, get it done ” mentality
- Ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategies to achieve business objectives
- Ability to manage multi-layered digital and traditional marketing plans; thorough knowledge of social media plans, working with the press, media outlets, and industry analysts
