We are currently recruiting for a Digital Content Specialist who will be responsible for content creation and engaging online communities to business goals. This position will report to the Digital Marketing Manager for OTC Skin Care portfolio.
Consumers are engaging with brands and retailers online now more than ever. From owned websites to social media to retailers' sites, brands' digital content is an important way to communicate value to consumers. Beyond creating and maintaining high quality, engaging content across platforms, the Digital Content Specialist works to amplify content and messaging by managing the online community for their assigned brand(s), including through influencer and co-branded partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in digital marketing, content creation and social media as well as a proactive, can-do attitude and a growth mindset. S/he will also enjoy working as a team but be able to take the reins of their assigned projects and report back to the team with results.
Duties And Responsibilities
Web content creation and management
- Create and edit copy for websites, including product descriptions, blogs, and other search engine optimized copy.
- Generate and propose ideas for websites, digital ads and social media content.
- Conduct research for content utilizing online and other sources to find relevant and interesting information, including interviewing the product development team and health care professionals as appropriate.
- Utilize Crown's photo studio to create new imagery and video for product content database, social media and websites.
- Draft social media calendars for assigned brands and ensure all content is approved prior to posting.
- Coordinate professional photoshoots, including planning, coordinating with models and photographers, and assisting on set.
- Following standard Regulatory Affairs content approval process, seek guidance and approval from Regulatory Affairs team on all content to ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
Online community engagement
- Monitor brand and product sentiment online using social and web listening tool.
- Respond to and engage with messages received from consumers via social media in accordance with social messaging guidelines and brand strategy.
- Engage with consumers on social media, routing to appropriate Crown team as necessary.
- Build an awareness of influencers and communities relevant to assigned products and their categories. Make proactive recommendations for influencer partnerships.
Reporting
- Create regular and timely reports on key social and web metrics.
- Present collected data and metrics to key stakeholders.
- Develop an understanding of results of different digital marketing tactics and make proactive recommendations relevant to assigned brands.
Other expectations
- Up to 20% travel for brand events and photoshoots (as reasonable depending on COVID-related travel restrictions and best practices)
- Completion of hiring exercise as part of interview process, including presenting work to Digital Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing.
Qualifications
- Requires any combination and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Digital Media or similar, and 1-3 years of experience in digital or online content creation and management.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Experienced in content ideation, creation and management.
- Basic knowledge of: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Wordpress, Facebook Business Manager, SEMRush, Google Analytics, Salsify, HubSpot, Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere (or other photo/video editing software)
- Understanding of core digital marketing metrics (e.g. reach, impressions, CPC, CTR, CPM).
- Basic understanding of SEO and web content best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with a team framework, but complete individual tasks on time and on message.
