Now, in the wake of 2020’s paradigm shifts, that mission has become more urgent than ever. As the City continues the reopening process, we at NYC & Company are charged with helping to ensure that all New Yorkers benefit from a renewed economy, in particular those in BIPOC communities who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic. In pursuit of that goal, we are committed more than ever to featuring diverse voices in our channels who speak to NYC’s many cultures.
We are seeking applicants for a 3-6 month contract position to assist us in this mission and coordinate our influencer marketing efforts.
This position will be responsible for developing influencer marketing strategies to support NYC & Company initiatives, identifying and vetting influencers to partner with, and coordinating influencer activities including developing itineraries, establishing deliverables, ensuring flawless execution, and reporting results to stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have experience working with influencers and knowledge of managing social media business accounts. They will have existing influencer contacts in travel, lifestyle, food, fashion, entertainment, etc. The ideal candidate performs well under pressure and have excellent time-management skills; be a team player, willing to collaborate; and be able to consistently deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Collaborating with team members on influencer marketing strategies supporting company marketing initiatives.
• Recruiting a network of diverse influencers who can represent the NYC brand and support key programs including Tourism Campaigns, NYC Restaurant Week, NYC Broadway Week, etc.
• Vetting influencers for fit within the NYCgo brand.
• Negotiating deliverables for each influencer, finalizing agreements, and ensuring compliance with our rights & clearances standards.
• Establishing influencer itineraries and coordinating influencer visits to tourism and hospitality businesses throughout the City.
• Collecting results from influencers and reporting campaign results to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of influencer marketing experience.
• Established influencer contacts in the travel, lifestyle, culinary, entertainment industries.
• Self-starter who can work directly with influencers to establish deliverables, timelines and coordinate their coverage of NYC.
• In depth knowledge of social media industry including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Familiarity with Weibo, WeChat, Snapchat, Pinterest, and LinkedIn a plus.
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organized with great time management skills.
• Outstanding project management skills.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• BA degree or higher.
• Passion for the five boroughs and a commitment to contributing to the City’s recovery.
