POSITION: Content Marketing SpecialistLOCATION: Remote with some travel. Northeast preferred; proximity to New York, NY a plus.COMPENSATION: This is a full-time permanent position. And we invite you to co-create it with us.#indisposableOver the past two years, UPSTREAM has undergone a metamorphosis to maximize our ability to transform America's throw-away society to a culture of stewardship. As part of this process, we've pivoted to become a public-facing organization and have invested in growing our team, building our brand, as well as our projects and services. We create original content on 4 main platforms (podcasts, blogs, livestreams, videos) and are looking to launch social marketing campaigns to help shift behaviors away from single-use.To realize our vision and execute our mission, we are seeking a new member of our Communications and Social Impact team to oversee this part of our work.We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and experienced Content Marketing Specialist to expand our social impact through online and offline content. The Content Marketing Specialist will support the Marketing & Communications Director with content marketing and channel management activities with the goal of increasing organic followers, reaching new audiences, engaging existing audiences, and driving new revenue streams. This work will evolve, but here are the highlights of the position:Content Marketing: Help ideate, develop and promote UPSTREAM content and thought leadership via social, email, and website. Channels/platforms are continually evolving but currently include: The Indisposable Podcast, blogs, our YouTube Channel and livestreams.Social Media and Community Management: Manage UPSTREAM's social media accounts on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Develop and execute social media marketing plan including content and graphic development, design and scheduling of posts, copywriting.Website optimization: We launched a new website and one-of-a-kind Reuse Learning Hub in November 2020. The work is now to continually optimize user experience/navigation on the site along with SEO and generate new leads.Social marketing campaigns: launch and build upon existing social impact campaigns which encourage the masses to make the shift from single-use to reuse.Program support: Help develop, manage, and execute integrated communications plans across 4 key program areas: Business Innovation, Policy, Fundraising and CEO initiatives. Grow and engage our influencer network including strategically identifying and leveraging existing and potential social, influencer, and network opportunities.Earned Media/PR support: Help execute communications campaigns, writing press releases, op-eds, letters to the editor and other content for news. Manage media lists, track UPSTREAM features/mentions.   • 3 years experience in digital media, marketing and communications field with knowledge and expertise in social, email, webExcellent writing, communications and project management skills with an eye for detail and designAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects happening simultaneously Proven track record developing and managing effective content distribution plansExperience launching successful campaigns that influence behavioral change (using innovative marketing channels including: social, video, influencer, experiential and/or events)Self-starter and comfort working with online platforms (including Google Drive, Slack and Zoom) and virtual offices with minimal supervision.Desire to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world.Ability to travel for meetings, quarterly staff retreats, and other convenings as part of the job (once we can safely start traveling again!)
