Director of Social Media

Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 Annually

  • Building and leading the social media function, with the goal of scaling brand and company awareness across the companies portfolio of companies through various social channels
  • Developing and implementing bold, innovative social media strategies to drive growth across all social channels, aligned with our goals across multiple brands and portfolio companies
  • Developing and overseeing day-to-day management of outbound campaigns that are innovative, compelling, and inspiring across a wide variety of audiences
  • Creating actionable plans to increase impressions, followers, and engagement through social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn by leveraging quantitative and qualitative insights, and keeping up to date with how each platform evolves
  • Collecting, analyzing, and leveraging social data to inform decision making; standardize tracking, tools, and measurement in partnership with our insights team.
  • Driving strategic analytical approach to gathering performance data, social listening data, and synthesizing into action-oriented reports to drive business impact from all social activities.
  • Refining and adapting strategies based on market changes, channel shifts, and results of multiple test & learn initiatives throughout the year.
  • Delivering social programs with both small and large budgets, spending for maximum ROI from all social efforts.
  • Planning, managing, and monitoring all social campaigns and posts, working closely with partners and stakeholders (including Marketing, PR, Creative, Content, Legal, etc.)
  • Experience running influencer campaigns and how and how they can be used to extend social campaigns
  • Building a scalable social media playbook for burgeoning brands across our portfolio companies and provide strategic guidance for portfolio teams

You will gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years social strategy and execution
  • Experience working with consumer internet companies
  • Prior experience building a social media function/team in a fast-paced, startup culture
  • Prior experience developing social strategies for multiple brands concurrently
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for social media and broad knowledge of platforms, trends, and tools vital to develop and execute successful social media strategy
  • Immersed in the digital world and emerging platforms. Hands-on experience with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Knowledge of LinkedIn a bonus.
  • Broad experience including brand identity, content strategy and development, video, and organic social media.
  • Ability to change and juggle opposing demands in a multifaceted work environment
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills across multiple audiences and methods
  • A hands-on approach with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, roll with ambiguity, and find creative solutions
  • Experience with Salesforce Social Studio and Meltwater is preferred
