Director of Social Media
Tone It Up is looking for a social media director to lead the management of overall social media activities with the key purpose to tell the brand’s story, drive brand awareness, engagement, referral, and advocacy. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to interpret and translate brand strategies into programs & campaigns that resonate in the digital space. This candidate is an expert in the ever-evolving world of social media marketing -- with a passion for visual storytelling, community-building, and fitness & wellness. This candidate should also demonstrate a strong understanding of branding in a way that drives, develops, engages, and rapidly scales a growing audience.
In this role, you will be expected to drive business objectives and opportunities across channels while partnering with our in-house content team to deliver stylized, editorial content that speaks to product, lifestyle, and community. This candidate will be responsible for building out social strategies, ideating with key sales channel stakeholders, overseeing content distribution and execution of brand marketing strategy, and presenting results on performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead strategy, planning, and execution for Tone It Up social media including ongoing/daily posting, social campaigns, platform management, and consumer engagement. Including, but not limited to: Campaigns, Content & storytelling, Platform optimization, Influencer relationships and initiatives
- Provide social insight and POV in the development of omnichannel planning for brand initiatives and campaigns
- Serve as brand social lead, developing and executing best-in-class social strategy in alignment with sales channel stakeholders and cross-functional partners, with a shared goal to increase engagement and improve organic social traffic to all sales channels
- Scale the community and increase engagement
- Stay up-to-date on new social media tools, best practices, competitive activity, and other social media leaders to ensure Tone It Up is first to market
- Maintain consistent voice, personality, and look & feel for the brand across all social channels
- Provide ad-hoc, biweekly, and yearly analysis on performance to internal shareholders
- Define, establish, and maintain social content calendar -- including developing creative concepts from ideation to execution
- Create social media assets as needed
- Engage with the Tone It Up community to drive favorable conversations. Working directly with the Social Media Community Manager to ensure brand-related questions, comments, and opportunities are addresses with speed, good judgment, and in alignment with brand values
- Serve as liaison in all social media executions with affiliates nationally. Manage communication of campaigns/programs and provide guidelines and guidance to implement.
- Own influencer strategy and programming including but not limited to: paid partnerships/content, organic seeding, event integration, and deepening of brand relationships with tastemakers
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of experience in the Digital + Social Media industry, preferably with a fitness/wellness brand
- Deep strategic and operational experience in the digital space
- Experience creating content for social channels in a professional capacity
- Proficiency in Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred
- Efficiency in multi-tasking, high degree of organization, and ability to prioritize
- Creative thinker with the ability to successfully follow through and execute ideas
- Experience with data analytics (natively to the social platforms), through Google Analytics, or through reporting software like Sprout, Sprinklr, etc.
- Driven, self-starter who can build strategic plans as well as execute tactically
- Collaborative with experience in receiving input from multiple key stakeholders
- Strong eye for visual/stylized creative
- Strong communication skills: written and verbal
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal office hours as needed
- Experience managing multiple agency and vendor relationships
- Experience with key retailers
